Pricey$ for Play
Nice course but pricey for the condition and course. Ron Jaworski just purchased and some improvements have been made. The Golf Now deal for $72 is the only way I would play here. Regular cost is $89, I would not spend that for this course.
Value and Fun!
Played this course early in the morning first one out. Went out as a single joined up with another single behind me and had an enjoyable round. Course was in good shape and green rolled very true. It was a good morning 3.5 hour round and I would definitely be back. Not sure its worth the full rate of $70, but with GolfNow you should give the course a look.
Great Course and Worth the Money.
This was the first time playing Downingtown. The course staff was very friendly, the course was setup great and even though we got caught in the rain the course still held up and was in amazing shape. I will absolutely be playing here again. Also would be a really good course to walk. There is no real practice facility, they had a small net range you can hit but it only fits one person. It looked like they were doing some renovations so who knows what's to come. We even saw a beaver, which was pretty cool.
Very nice mature course
This course is a bit short with lots of par 4's less than 400 yards but still quite challenging. Lots of bunkers in fairways tho and around the greens to enhance the challenge.
Various holes have water impacting your shot choice.
Very mature course with lots of big trees. Many of the fairways are a bit tight.
Conditions not what they used to be
There is a lot of maintenance/construction going on. It is definitely not worth full price under these conditions on a weekend morning. The course was one of my favorites in the area but the tee boxes are terrible and you can tell they're trying to get as many rounds through the course at the expense of the conditions.
On the bright side, non-golf related, the bar/grill did have a nice selection of micros for after the round.
Wait a few months till they're done with all the maintenance.
The dog at DT
Jaworski is doing a good job breathing life into the course. Clubhouse is great and the course conditions were very good. The pace could have been better but the day was great. The greens were in excellent shape and it appears that a lot of work has been done to make this a great course.
Challenging
Great layout and challenging greens. Little trouble but traps and hazards are well placed.
Great Course
Can't wait to see this course in the summer. Very impressed and I take nothing away from the course getting prepared for the winter. Fairways were great greens were sandy but rain was on the way. Overall I had a good experience and will make it back soon.
Good course getting better
I played this course because i knew Ron Jaworski had purchased it and i love his other courses. The first thing i notice about Downingtown was how many workers were around the course knocking down trees and trying to improve the course. it may take about a year, but i expect this course to be on par with Running Deer and Riverwinds. Have already scheduled another round here next week.
Nice design, tough greens to read.
Enjoyed playing the course. It was in good condition but my partner and I had trouble reading the greens. Definitely a course I would play again.
The Greens were difficult, but in great shape
Downingtown is a fair course with some challenging Par Threes as well as quick greens. On a few holes your drives placement is a necessary requirement in order to be able to have an opportunity to par the hole. I met some nice people and enjoyed my round.
Great, well guarded, fast greens are challenging
Played on day where wind never went below 20 mph which made a 372 yard par 4 into the wind quite the challenge. Even though most of the course is tree lined, the fairways are generous enough to hit driver on all the par 4's and 5's without concern. Can't say enough about how nice the greens were and the sand traps were well maintained as well. Our GolfNow Hot Deal price made this a steal at $25 with taxes and fees.
Great Course...FUN!
Great Fun Course, has a lot of everything. Ball stays in play for most of the holes. Most holes if you have a great drive, you are usually a short iron out. Scoreable!
This course is attracively landscaped and designed
I played the course with my wife who is an average golfer and my handicap on this course is a 13. We both enjoyed our round. However, we do not see any other women on the course during our 9 hole round.
idk
Course was in great shape. Fairways and greens were in phenomenal shape. Pace of pllay was decent, but we were able to pass a three some that looked like it was their first time golfing. A lot of interesting holes, we played from the blues and it was pretty challenging. I would definitely recommend this course at a golf now price. I don't think I would pay the 80$ price tag on the weekend.
Tricky Greens
Course is in good shape. Traps much better than most on golf now. Taken over by Egales old Quarterback. Prices a little cheaper now but def worth it at 25$
First of Many Rounds at DCC
This is a course I had wanted to play for a while and was able to sneak out of work to do so. Caught a Hot Deal to go along with a 70-degree October day and was extremely impressed. Classic layout with subtle elevation changes and tree-lines fairways. Not the longest of courses, but accuracy is key... bunkers are deep both around the greens and in the fairways. Water comes into play on a few holes on the back, which has three of each pars to make a fun stretch back to the clubhouse. Course was in great shape, and grounds crew were out working on some problem spots. Will definitely be going back here come next season.
Downingtown PA. A Ron Jaworski Golf Club
Great little public track. Greens were fast and true. Fairways in very good shape. Rough is not too difficult but has not been maintained as well as fairways and greens.
Nice clubhouse restaurant. Friendly staff.
price
Good course but we booked using golfnow and when we got there they try to charge me $61 even when we told them we booked in golfnow which was $49. They actually charge the CC 61 first and when we saw the mistake and complain they refunded the money.
Classic layout
Course layout is very traditional. Not overly long but you use every club in your bag. Lots of doglegs on the front nine. If you are accurate off the tee you can score well.
Course is in excellent shape. I think the greens fee is a bit too high though.
