Nice Layout...Very busy
Got on for $27.50 through GOLFNOW, tee'd off about 20 minutes after our scheduled tee time, round took about 5 hours. Course was in decent shape, however some traps still filled with water from hard rains recently, greens in average shape, little bumpy from so much play. Very nice layout, like this better than lakeside, would play again, but not before 1pm.
It is getting better
A couple of years ago, Butlers was taken over by new management and the beautifully maintained vegetation was allowed to deteriorate. As a result, I had not been back for almost a year. I am pleased to say that conditions, though not yet what they were, were definitely better than last year. I will definitely consider playing there again, though they are not yet in a condition where I would recommend them to someone else.
Nice place to play
On the previous Sunday my wife and I were rained out after 6 holes on the Woodside Course. So we were able to play the Lakeside with a raincheck assisted GolfNow rate. Course is in fine shape. I'm surprised that it wasn't really crowded. But the heat might have had something to do with that. The nice part was that there were plenty of trees to shade us during the stoppages. The course is challenging, yet fair for the average golfer. If one works hard, the course will give you a decent score at the end of the day.
I was extremely happy for my wife, who had her best nine ever on the back nine (quite frankly, she kicked my butt).
Better than average western PA golf course.
36 holes and how you use them
They had an outing yesterday on one 18. So it was no surprise the second 18 was crowned. After a 3 hour front nine, there was a ranger on 10. after a bit of conversation, he offered and we accepted and he took us to the other 18's back nine. It was very open. It made our day to be moved and we were able to play a much faster back nine. That is good customer service.
course is great
Course was in great shape from tee to green. Will definitely play again.
Enjoyable Round
Course was well maintained for the middle of December. I have played other courses in peak season that weren't as well groomed as this. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Always in great shape with huge greens
Course has large fairways and greens. Pleny of sand and is always in great shape
worst round ever
The round i am providing a review for occurred on 9/15. I booked a tee time but ended up in the middle of an elderly couples outing that seemed to cover the entire course. The pace of play was the most ridiculously slow i have ever seen, we teed off at 1:30pm and did not finish until 7pm. I do not recall hitting a single shot without waiting for at least 5-10 minutes. This obviously made for an extremely frustrating experience and i will be hesitant to ever play this course again.
