Golden Oaks Golf Club
About
Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pa. is considered one of Berks County's finest courses with a four-star rating from Golf Digest, which also named it as one of the top "Places to Play." It was voted the "Best Public Course" by readers of Berks County Magazine. Designed by local architect Jim Blaukovitch, the golf course has a classic design that appeals to players of all skill levels. The course has wide, inviting fairways but there are also some challenges provided by the rolling terrain, featuring elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Be prepared for a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. Trees line Golden Oaks Golf Club's fairways and strategically placed bunkers protect the greensides. The golf course has some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

In very good shape
Even better than some years, the course is in good shape. Still too many land mines on the greens that golfers do not repair but that is true everywhere on public courses in PA. The Marshall should be out more with so many female groups playing in a row as they were not at all moving along as the starter stated they would.
Most notable improvement needs to be quality and consistency of bunker sand. I am not usually in them that often and these were inconsistent in depth, type of sand and quality of sand. Get some soft new sand guys.
Greens rolled very true as always. They felt like they rolled at about a 9 to 10. Fairways and tees were in very good shape. Course looked better than I have seen it the past 3-5 years. I get there 1-3 times per year on average.
Snack shed at turn needs to have hot sausages by mid afternoon. Those ladies are always friendly and are the most friendly of the staff there. The guys in the clubhouse are friendly too.
I wish this was closer to Hershey than it is or I would play it regularly. Love the course!!!!
Terrific course
Enjoyed our round of golf immensely. Course was challenging but fair. Overall experience was great!
Much improved conditions - Greens excellent
I play this course a few times a year, although with the condition worsening over recent years I'd reduced my frequency, and Covid just gave me added reasons. So I was very pleased at the improved course conditions.
The entire course was green. I didn't find one area needing improvements. Tee boxes, sand traps, fairways were all in good shape. Better than any course of similar value. And the greens? I LOVED them. All of them ran the same , smooth, and fast. That's how I like them and it's the most important part of the course. Accolades to the staff and improvements in the course conditions.
Strangely I got charged for my wife to ride with me, after being told I'd not be charged if not already in a threesome. It was just myself and a walker. I didn't look at my receipt until I finished. I also find their not having course rates on their site or if it is, it's hard to find. I learned that's their usual, and didn't check it on my way out there this time so maybe after 4+ years they finally corrected that.
Enough whining. I like the course layout. Many tee boxes to challenge your skill. And having a food hut/cart after the 9th has always been better than most others have. Go try it out.
Wide open, fun layout with minimal number of houses in sight
Good conditions.
Wide open.
Fast greens.
Use the correct tees and fun for all levels of golfers.
Great course and people
Played on a rainy/cold/windy Wednesday but made it through all 18 after a lunch break halfway through the front nine due to the weather. Pro shop staff was very hospitable and kind moving me and my partner’s cart under the roofed eating area outside while we ate. Only a few others on the course when we returned so turned out to be a 4 hour round with an 1.5 lunch break included!
Well maintained
Course in great shape as always . Reasonably priced for a very good course. Challenging and multiple spaced out tees make it as playable or challenging as you wish.
Golden oaks
We played in 3 hrs , the course is in fantastic shape, the greens are fast , the best greens in the area! Very nice and challenging layout, if your in the area or even an hr away or so, it’s well worth the ride, you won’t be disappointed!
Great Course
Everything was great. Pace of play. Course conditions. Amenities. Would recommend!
Very nice course
Very nice course. Condition very good for time of year. Pace of play was very good too. Took 2 of us just over 3 hours following a 4some.
Tuff greens fast
Fairways were nice tee box a little confusing
Approaches to the greens are fantastic the greens are a little beat up but still very challenging
Decent if you live close
Came here only because a friend drove (1 hr), wasn’t worth it tbh. The front desk gentleman wasn’t friendly (maybe because we’re asian), course condition was not bad, considering it’s march, could of been better. No real complaints, I just wouldn’t come back here esp. since it’s the boonies. I normally play courses like Bella Vista and Lederach, much better than this course. Not sure how this course won any type of award years ago.
