Nestled between the Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea volcanoes, The Village Course at Waikoloa (formerly known as Waikola Village Golf Club) has a beautiful and unique location that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The verdant, rolling terrain is dotted with stands of young trees and lakes that were incorporated into the golf course’s design. Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course’s designer, tried to maintain the natural assets of the landscape while adding a few challenges such as fairways bunkers and doglegs. The golf course also features traditional raised greens that are subject to forceful prevailing winds. Although the course is challenging enough for the serious golfer, the relaxed pace and beautiful scenery appeal to players of all skill levels. Locals often consider The Village Course at Waikoloa one of Hawaii’s best-kept secrets.

Good course, greens are molasses

The course is a good one to have a nice day of golf. Not overly challenging but fun for all levels. The greens are so slow you almost need a driver to make a 10 foot putt. My only issue with the course.

We enjoyed our round

Friendly, helpful staff. Course was in good shape. A forgiving course for the casual golfer. Found a Golf Now special for $98 green fees, which was fair and reasonable I the land of exorbitant resort golf fees. We live locally and will definitely be back as soon as we have our HI drivers license and qualify for local rates.

The greens are very slow and the traps have gravel instead of sand and are inconsistent.

Good choice for mid range course

Golf in Hawaii for visitors is pretty expensive. The higher priced ones are that way because they are in fantastic shape and or are visually stunning. Waikoloa Village is just a step down from those. The layout is very good and provides every level of skill a chance to score. There are a few patchy spots in some fairways and the bunkers seem like gravel instead of sand. However the greens are pretty good and roll true. The staff is great, carts are peppy (no GPS though) and food cart service is regular. They charge for range but a small is only $3 and balls are in good shape. Overall a good round on a good course.

Fun, Forgiving Course

This course is a lot of fun. The fairways and greens are in great shape. Fairways are wide there are just enough trees to make it interesting. The bunkers aren’t really sand. More like small gravel. Most staff is friendly, especially the lady at the counter with the accent. Good value based on Tri other courses in the area. No ocean views butyou get nice mountain views. There is enough elevation chance to keep things interested.

Golfgirl

The staff in the pro shop are not welcoming or friendly to us or our friends we invited to join us! This is almost always the case and this time it was particularly noticeable!

The staff at the restaurant was also short with us!

We don’t find this at any other golf course in the area!

We hope management will read this and take note!

Great course, Friendly Staff

This was my second time playing here The first was right after a rain storm and the course still played well. There is some ground under repair but overall the course was in great condition. The greens didn’t all seem the play the same speed but fair. Still had a few turkeys and lots of nenes. I will definitely be back.

Staff was great... pace of play was a little slow but there was only 2 in our group because of Covid. Great day of golf.
