Waikoloa Village Golf Club
About
Nestled between the Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea volcanoes, Waikola Village Golf Club has a beautiful and unique location that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The verdant, rolling terrain is dotted with stands of young trees and lakes that were incorporated into the golf course’s design. Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course’s designer, tried to maintain the natural assets of the landscape while adding a few challenges such as fairways bunkers and doglegs. The golf course also features traditional raised greens that are subject to forceful prevailing winds. Although the course is challenging enough for the serious golfer, the relaxed pace and beautiful scenery appeal to players of all skill levels. Locals often consider Waikola Village Golf Club one of Hawaii’s best-kept secrets.

Golf at Waikoloa Village
All staff friendly and helpful!! Course good layout
Nice course
A few drops of rain, but no real problems. Good course for all degrees of golfers. Greens in great shape, a few brown spots on edges of course
Staff rude.price is not corret, bad experience
I booked 3weeks ago for $37(local residents)
They could inform us the price changed..but they just wait until check in and rip you off another $20..and do not allow you cancel..they changed price first and you have to play anyway..this is just a robbery..of course if the course is worth for $56, i would not mad..the green is bad. fairway not good condition..not a golf course worth to pay over $50..
Staff
Martin in the pro-shop is a great ambassador for the course and all the staff were excellent.
Golf at The Village
Golf course Conditions getting better after loosing well for the summer!! Hats off to golf course and crew !!
Fun golf course!!!
A Fun course to play. Pace of play was excellent. Matt in pro shop very good to deal with.
Not a course that will make you think—never seen a hole like that before—but a really enjoyable place to play.
Would like to see a bit better rate—-but it is Hawaii after all.
Waikoloa Village golf, wide and walkable.
Course is wide open and it is good for those who like to drive the ball. Four sets of tee boxes. It can get windy up here. The sand bunkers are filled with volcanic grit., because of the wind. However, they are playable. The course has a few forced carries. Course has an interesting layout and it is walkable. Fairways are thin with a number of dead spots in them. Same with the greens. Would play again because it's an interesting layout. It's a fun course as it dares you to go for it. Would play again. A bit pricey for its conditions. For after golf amenities it's hard to beat Johnny's Restaurant which has both good drinks and food.
This course needs TLC so bad!
Poor fairways and poor greens. That’s all you get at this course. Not worth the money. Really I have no idea how they got their good ratings.
Very friendly staff
Great course, very good shape.
Very helpful staff, in all departments.
Great views nice people, I will be back
It's golf in Hawaii so how bad can it be.....but
It's golf in Hawaii so why am I complaining? Well...I got a hot deal on golf now for $90 so we bought it. Then at the check in counter they said we shouldn't have gotten that deal because that's for residents...but they let it go. Well...to be honest I think I got robbed at that price. The fairways were awful. The grass was diseased or something. You could hit a beautiful shot right down the center and chances are you're still playing off of dirt or diseased fairway. Greens and tee boxes were okay and not a problem. The majority of the sand traps were not sand at all but large pebbles. Yes...like rock pebbles. You'd think of all places that you'd have no problem getting plenty of sand for your traps....Hawaii would be iit. Bottom line....if you're on vacation, pay the extra $100-$150 dollars and play Mauna Kea. You won't regret it. You did'n't come to Hawaii to play an overpriced municipal course. I'm sure this place has seen better days and for their sake I hope it won't be long before they turn it back around and make it an enjoyable place for those who aren't paying the resident fee.
Poor conditions
I’ve played this course before and it was enjoyable. This time, the course hadn’t been watered for a month per an employee, so the fairways and greens were pretty brown which was frustrating since I’d paid in advance and wasn’t able to get a refund. I know things are tough with the pandemic, however paying regular rates with the course conditions are they were, didn’t sit well with me.
