Oaks National Golf Club

Played Oaks National today. I grew up on this course when it first opened.

You can tell the management company who has control of it now is working hard to bring this place back. Staff were top notch. Cart was perfect. It has rained a bunch here lately so the greens were a tick slow.

I counted one green that had some sand in one corner of it and one tee box that was a little sandy. Non issue and this place plays well, it’s a steal at current rates. Bring a bunch of balls, it’s a challenging layout!

Will definitely be back.

The Oaks is improving. The tee boxes, the fairways and most of the greens were very nice and green. Greens rolled nicely. The sand traps need work in getting better sand in there. Too much mud and stones.

A couple of greens. (16 & 17) had some brown issues but overall were good. The course is not easy. Every par 3 is challenging. The large trees near the tee boxes on hole 16 could use some trimming to give golfers a chance on their tee shot.

Hopefully ownership can keep improving this course.

I've played this course several times and it's usually because I can get an early enough teetime that I can go as a single and actually work on my game by hitting more than one shot per hole. For me, this is much better than going to a driving range as I can get realtime feedback and the opportunity to play different shots. In the past I've always noticed the course wasn't in the best shape, but at this pricepoint, you can't expect to be playing at the Ritz-Carlton. If you're looking for a decent course to use for practice, then this is your course. I will say the course doesn't drain very well, so if it's rained the night before and you have an early teetime, expect it to be wet.

Course has some bad spots on some greens but overall maintained well. Challenges with water keep it interesting and fun. Well marked so newcomers like me don't get lost haha. Very friendly staff, really appreciated that. I will be back

The grase is so high you loose your ball everywhere Dont go there

Started off early in the morning. The course fairways in greens overall are in good condition. Honestly for the price it’s definitely worth it. Staff and everybody is friendly. The course has some holes that wind through a charming neighborhood but the course has 200 year old oak trees, beautiful wildlife and challenging layout.

Yeah, sure some of the tea boxes have sand on them, but that’s what teaser for some of the fringes have some overgrowth on them but 100% I’m coming back

Always love playing here, lots of potential and some tough holes from the back tees.

I've seen this course in really bad shape. I booked because it was cheap and available for my desired tee time.

I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course. It was a much better experience than I've had in the past.

The golf course greens were the best part of the course. The fairways needed some attention concerning manicuring. The layout of the course was great it had challenging areas to maneuver golf shots. This will be a great course to play anytime.. you cannot beat the price to play a round of golf…

This course I have not played in about a year and was not in great shape. I was pleasantly surprised on Saturday morning when I played. What a difference on every level from staff to course conditions. There is a new management team in place, and they are working hard on course improvements and to make the course better. They are doing a great job, and I can't wait to play there again.

First time playing this course. The front 9 is in good shape; however the cart paths are in bad shape. The greens are small, but smooth and true. I played early in the day, so pace was great as it wasn’t crowded. Lots of different birds and wildlife with water on almost every hole. The back nine was in bad shape. Lots of burnt edges around the greens, and rough was not managed. The biggest issue are the cart paths! Felt like a 4x4 ATV is needed with the root systems and destroyed cart paths. I would play the course again, but only when not busy.

Oaks National is a very nice course. Played here last year at this time and returned this year. Yes, there are a few greens that need a little TLC, but overall the course plays great and every green is puttable. Will keep returning when in the area. Great rates as well.
