Providence Golf Club

From the moment you arrive and the cart master meets you at your car, you feel welcome. The pro shop staff are friendly and efficient and the starter is full of good cheer and advice. The range is excellent and the other practice facilities matching. Tees are good and the fairways are great. Greens are good pace, despite the difficult weather conditions this year.

We wrapped up our visit in the well-stocked restaurant facilities hosted by a very friendly barmaid. All in all, a 5-star experience.

This course is fun to play, mostly wide open fairways, however, get off the fairway and it can be thick tall grasses. Beginning sign says ’golfer responsible for damage to homes’. Not sure if it would hold up but FYI anyway. I was always told that’s simply the dangers you take when buying a house on a course. Greens were very sandy and not much fun to play on today. Should improve over next days.

As pleasant and helpful as a golf course staff can be, from the second you jump out of your car, to check in, starter, ranger, etc. Great people. Course is wide open, forgiving and fun. Pace of play was the only issue, they run 8 minute tee times and let early morning groups get the entire tee sheet behind on a Saturday morning, minor problem but get that under control.

Side Note: Hands down the worst tee box markers i have ever seen on any course, you cant barely tell what is what even when standing over it. This does not help pace of play at all, easy fix. I will be back and excited to see some new ones ha.

Just played 18 holes at Providence Golf Club near Davenport, Florida, and it was excellent. The views are fantastic, the course is beautifully maintained, and the holes themselves are really well designed.

Pace of play was excellen, no waiting around. Service was solid, nothing to rave about but exactly what you’d expect from a well-run public course. And the prices are outstanding lol

there’s a lot of water on the course, which made the course even more fun. the wildlife was amazing we saw a deer, a harmless alligator, turkeys, and a squirrel. Overall, a fantastic course with great scenery and a very nice pace. Highly recommend.

Some of the greens need urgent attention. Cut grass left and spoils the look of the course.

This course is a hidden gem. When vacationing in the Orlando area stick to the resort courses. Don’t steal my tee times. 😉

This is a beautiful course, but made very difficult since it was cart path only after recent rains. The fairways were not wet, and the 90+ degrees heat was tough. Most bothersome was the rough, which was way too high, and the NARROW fairways, which made for many lost balls which slipped into any rough. And the fact that many holes required a long second or third shot to carry over the rough (no "runways" to manage this) was annoying.

But at least the $4.25 beers were a bargain!

Staff extremely friendly and helpful, course in excellent shape considering all the rain the past month. GPS on carts very accurate on distances to pins.

This is a very nice course! Especially for the money. Some holes cart path only but that's to be expected. Some greens showing signs of summer heat but that's also to be expected. The staff takes very good care of this course! The pro shop guy was very nice and helpful. The carts have a very good gps system and are new and electric. There's no stopping by the clubhouse at the turn. Many dog legs and therefore the course doesn't play as long as the yardage says.

I play many courses in the SE United States, this one is a HIDDEN GEM!

I come in frequently with guests and the staff at the Pro Shop are very friendly, even before they started recognizing me for my frequent rounds. Bruce is so helpful, always has a smile and makes my friends and I feel at home. This course is always top tier, rangers do their jobs politely and they are helpful to the guests. Gary was Ranger today and he was very polite and chatted with us while we had a few minutes to wait for tee off. Jerry and Candy can also be found at the front desk a lot of days and they are also polite and helpful getting everyone situated. This course is also very tidy, and is always in tasty good condition. The club house, range and practice areas are higher end just like the course. You will have a good round at this course and the staff here treats their guests well. I highly recommend this course, also some great wildlife runs around here so have your camera ready.

Seems that weekend mornings all the residents play early and play extremely slow. Playing from tees they shouldn’t be playing and looking for balls for 5+ minutes since they play from tee boxes too far for them to play…
