Now the fairways
First time playing this track I know we’ve had rain but it was like the fairways hadn’t been touched in weeks. Tee boxes were horrible I will give them credit the greens were decent . Unless they make a real effort to improve the course I can’t see it staying open . We will not be back we got what we paid for lesson learnt
I really enjoyed the course layout
I really enjoyed the layout and the various challenges the course brings. I have only two small issues. The first issue was how long it took to check in. Staff was very friendly but didn't seem to understand the software system. Second, the greens need some attention. Very bumpy and need some weed control but not the worst that I've seen. Overall, I would still recommend this course for those that enjoy a great layout and some decent challenges.
Much improved...
The last time I played here was last summer. The course does not drain well, and we were having a very wet summer. Bunkers were mostly lakes.
It's not like that now...we've had a dry winter, and we're not in the rainy summer season just yet. The course is dry, the bunkers are a little crusty, but have clearly been power raked. A lot of fun.
This is a course where local knowledge or a GPS is important since there is water squeezing a few fairways the makes driver off the tee a bad idea. There are also a couple of 150+ par threes that are almost entirely forced carries with no bailout option.
A good value in the afternoon, when many courses in the area are still at twice this price. Also...as a single in a cart, I started at 4:25 and finished 18 at 6:45. Three groups let me play through rather than join, but I love that kind pace for a round. Hit it, find it, hit it again...a great way to play!
Needs lots of work
Course has been slow to recover from its downfall. Sand problems where there shouldn’t be. Greens are fast, but not good with several kinds of grass. Cart paths are rough. Such a downfall from its high in 2002.9
Oaks national golf course , Kissimmee,Fla.
Great course, tee boxes and fairways a little rough, greens are in good shape, sand traps are very wet. Great layout , a lot of water and rolling fairways. Staff and workers friendly . Both cashiers were nice and helpful. Carts are in good condition. I left my gps in the cart and they returned it to me the following day, much appreciated!Hope to return again next spring
Probably great like 15 years ago
The greens were in just awful conditions. Trying to putt, my ball was bouncing all over the place due to all the sprouting plugs. The fairways were really rough. It felt more like I was golfing in nature instead of golfing on a course.
The cart path is insanely rough in a lot of spots. The carts were probably the best part because they were gas powered and didn't have any of those smart features that make you slow down or can't go in certain areas.
I don't know if they built the course before all the houses or what but on some holes you have this really beautiful layout with nature and then the next you have houses on both sides which feel really close on some holes. It feels like the course came first and then they tried to shove as many houses as possible around the course.
I am really not a picky person and individually these things would not normally bother me but when the entire course is this bad it all stacks up in a bad way. The staff was nice at least.
For the price this is really not that great. Maybe under like $40.
Very quiet and great value.
Course is very interesting and seems to be little used. A great place to learn your craft or enjoy with friends
Underrated imo
First time playing Oak National, I was a little concerned based on previous reviews, but I have to say I was not disappointed overall. Greens are a little hit or miss with, some have a lot of weed growth, but none were unplayable. Fairways overall were in decent shape. Tee boxes could use some help, but luckily they let you hit off tees :)
Overall really liked the layout, challenging but fair. And
Considering how crazy prices are at some the courses nearby, definitely a good choice for a solid course at a decent price.
It's an ok course for the $$
Interesting layout lots of dog legs through a community. No fairway markers or gps so be sure to bring a range finder if you want to know yardage. I played early and with the morning dew it was hard to tell where the fairways were and with the dog legs a bit tricky. Greens were ok. Staff super friendly.
Lot of potential to be great
This course has so much potential to be a top tier course. Lots of yardage and hazards around make it pretty tough. But the greens need to be shaved down more often. And th sand is almost dirt. From the first time I played this course in September of last year to now, it has been huge leaps under the new management. But there is still a lot of work to be done. The greens rolling smoothly would be a HUGE win for this course and the community. Overall, the improvements are seen and appreciated. But a nicer pro shop isn’t going to make the game better.
Value for money golf!
Oaks National has great staff and are accommodating to the single golfer. The course is quite challenging (easyish from the golds) but in only ‘ok ‘ condition. Greens not too bad.
Overall great value if you get the best rates.
First Oaks
Staff were excellent and helpful, The course is nice wirh lots of water thT being said you better have decent control as some parts are narrow and close to houses. A fun course to play.
Great value course
Oaks National has great staff and is a good track. The condition is pretty average but the price more than reflects that. So great for a leisurely, friendly round of cheap golf.
Great value
Challenging course with lots of water. Putting greens a little rough. Enjoyable day.
Good Layout
It's ok to play,it needs a lot of Love. Good value course,,.
