Well watered course lots of grass in the fairways.

Not bad for the price. challenging layout. Bunkers had lots of grass in them, break in pipes created puddles in fairway. Greens were fine. Fairways had weeds throughout. Played with some really nice people and had a good day. It seemed it used to be a top notch course that time got away from them a bit. It's a nice renovation away from being top tier.

The course was in good shape, but the rough was very long and need to be cut down. Overall, I would recommend the course to the average to above average golfer.

Everything but the greens was a total mess. I have lived in area and played course many times over the years and various renovations and ownership. Current conditions are complete neglect, except for the greens. Fairways are just bad, bunkers are non existent, just overgrown weeds and mud. Tee boxes are fair at best. On the bright side, not busy and good value. This is a tough layout to start off with, and the greens made it challenging.

Have been playing at Ocala National/Golden Hills for almost 15 years now, so I’ve seen it change hands several times and gradually deteriorate over the years. Conditions had declined to about as bad as it gets on my last visit two years ago, but happy to report that things seem to be getting better. Greens are very good and have clearly been a point of emphasis for the staff, and fairways/rough are trending in the right direction with more mowing and overall attention than before— not sure if it’s a new owner, but something has changed for the better in terms of maintenance and upkeep. Definitely still some rough spots, such as the bunkers, certain tee boxes (just thin grass, nothing too horrible), and some areas off the fairway, but not enough to negatively affect your round or anything. Really good value if they continue to keep up with maintenance, and such a beautiful old course to play. Has a lot of potential!

The course was what you would expect for $25. It wasn’t in great shape but not horrible shape. I expect with a few weeks of rain it will only improve.

Course is great,but the sand traps are full of weeds and mud what a shame

People complaining should just go pay big bucks at some pristine course. For the money it was worth it. Greens were in good shape, fairways nice, some tees could use some help, and bunkers were a bit rough. Our carts were clean and ran good. The guy at the front counter was very pleasant and made us feel welcome.
