Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club

When we arrived there was nobody to be found in the office. When the employee arrived he was very rude and didn’t want to be there. The course was in terrible shape. The T boxes were rugged and bare. Fairways were also rough and only had grass in patches in areas. The greens had grass and were mowed but over watered. On high shots our balls would plug more than half the ball. We paid $20 for 18 holes and a cart so we knew it wouldn’t be perfect.

The course is long and well designed. The condition of the course has improved from a couple of months ago. Our tee time was at 1:00 pm but didn’t tee off until 2:15 pm due to no carts available. It was busy and the first time this has happened. Nice putting green to kill time and the range is decent. There’s only one person running the pro shop, cleaning carts and starting so sometimes the customer service is lacking but overall it’s a good choice for the money.

My wife and I loved it!! Wonderful course layout. Tees fairways and greens were in nice condition. Greens rolled smooth. Bunkers could use some TLC but we didn’t care. Looking forward to our next visit

Need a few more carts. Had to wait 30 min for a cart

bad sand traps pathetic condition sad course not good

Loved playing this course. First time for me but my husband has played with his buddies in the past. Only thing that needs to be addressed is the bunkers. Need sand and raking.

The staff was very helpful. The course was short on golf carts so we had to wait an hour before we could tee off. The pace of play was slow due to the lack of golf carts. The staff informed us that they would be having about 10 carts repaired in the next few days, which would give them enough to keep all the golfers moving. A very nice layout. The sand traps are mud clay traps. They were all bad and so we just dropped the ball out and played. The tee boxes represent many options. Typical lack of grass on the fairways for January in Florida if they do not have a extensive sprinkler system.

Never seen any worse kept bunkers. And no notice was given in the proshop before playing. 95% of the bunkers should have free drop out....

Great course for your money. Greens in good shape, only complaint is that the sandtraps are dirt packed not sand.

Our tee off was delayed 40 minutes due to lack of carts. However we played in 3.5 hours since no one was in front of us. This is a challenging course in average condition and the price was very good at $20 on GolfNow.

Not the best course, and definitely not the worst course in the area. Tee times were running approximately 40 minutes behind schedule. Carts seemed to be the issue. They had probably 30 sitting in their lock up area but I would assume they were broken considering they weren’t being used. Having showed up 30 minutes before our tee time, they were kind enough to comp us a small bucket of range balls while we waited. Unfortunately they only had a roped off section big enough for only 4 people to use the range at a time. So we waited about 30 minutes before we could even used the small limited of the range. Pace of play was relatively slow. We had to wait to take about 40% of our shots. This being a result of backed up tee times, rushing people to the first tee once carts were finally available and having no ranger.

The course wasn’t anything special, mostly just a change of scenery. We enjoyed the length of the course. Even with little rain as of lately, there was an abundance of soft spots and muck.

This place presents itself as having been a really nice course/ with nice facilities back in the day, but a lack of upkeep has proven to have taken its tole over the years.

If there is another GolfNow deal, we’ll go again, but probably won’t find ourselves back here paying full price.

Nice course needs some TLC. Great staff fast play and a great value.

I enjoy playing this course. This was the first time they did not have a cart available for us. We along with many others had to wait for other golfers to finish their rounds to get a cart. There were multiple carts that were unusable, need to be fixed. I will say this is very unusual, this course is very accomidating.

Course layout has massive potential. Course conditions were awful, atrocious, diabolical, unforeseen, and unfortunate.

Stay away until conditions change.

Course was wet and was asked not to drive on fairways.
