Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club

First time we've played this course since spring.

The fairways have improved, the greens are in better condition and there's now a little sand in the sand traps. Overall the course is close to getting 4 star rating from us. What is hold us back si the greens still need some work and the sand traps are more like waste bunkers. The restroom on the back nine was disgusting and should either be cleaned or closed.

Really enjoyed the greens, and loved the par 3s, loved all the holes really. Worth the money and time. Bringing my boys back here soon. Scored a pr for myself too.

Course was in fine shape. Green were some ofthe best around, they roll good and true. Would definitely recommend it.

The course layout is challenging. It also states that it is not in top shape. So the course is not in the greatest shape but it was ok. What I do have to say is that the staff and service was great. I left a speaker on the cart and it was turned in. I called left no message and they called me back. Had the speaker and I was able to pick it up. Again above and beyond honest and very helpful.

Played this course several times over the years and this was the first time I can remember the ruff being mowed the same as the fairways. This really speeds up play and made the game more enjoyable. The areas around the greens needs some improvement, bunker sand and moving grass and weeds around greens. Overall the layout is really good and makes the course fun to play.

Played at 730 on a Friday morning with another single who was on the tee box when I pulled up.We were finished by 10 and course was in pretty good shape.only paid like $25 so was well worth than and more. It’s about 45-50 minutes from where I live so I I’ll play again just little to far to get out in the rotation of courses I’ll play at least once a month.

This used to be a good course. The current management has allowed it go completely downhill. The bunkers are almost completely grown in with grass annd weeds with only some original sand left in the middle. The greens are covered with weeds and don’t roll true.

I’m from New Mexico and this is my first time playing in Florida. The course was in great condition. One green had a dead spot on it and a couple of downed trees. The owner and other golfers were extremely kind and welcoming. I played early as a single. One group of many wouldn’t let play through right away but eventually did. Other than that I had a great time and it was a great course. I was surprised that some holes had a good amount of elevation gain.

Course has a beautiful layout but, it needs an infusion of funds and some solid course repair. For the money it was a phenomenal deal. If worked on, this could be an amazing golf experience.

I only have one concern otherwise I would have given a five star.

Greens need a little sand to fill in many small holes

Continues to go downhill. Fairways are rough. Greens are still decent. However, their carts are dangerous.

My cousins, my brother, and I decided to play this course. It wasn't to affected by the storm which is a plus I know many courses near me are closed or have many obstacles. I enjoy playing a course with elevation because we don't get a lot of that in Florida. I also enjoyed the difficulty of the course some holes are wide but some are narrow. I'm still a beginner golfer but I enjoy a challenge. The greens where in really great shape which was another plus!
