Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club

I enjoy playing this course. This was the first time they did not have a cart available for us. We along with many others had to wait for other golfers to finish their rounds to get a cart. There were multiple carts that were unusable, need to be fixed. I will say this is very unusual, this course is very accomidating.

Course layout has massive potential. Course conditions were awful, atrocious, diabolical, unforeseen, and unfortunate.

Stay away until conditions change.

Course was wet and was asked not to drive on fairways.

Very good value for our rounds. Lack of clean watery in the ball wash units and paper towels in bathrooms are sadly lacking and we did fare very well on a further discount to play due to overseeding which required remaining off the fairways. The extra walking didn’t hurt us and may have impacted pace of play for some.

It's a shame that this course has been so neglected. The tee boxes are dirt and weeds. The fairways are un recognizable and made up of weeds and hard pan. The greens are dried up dead grass and crabgrass. The bunkers are weeds and maybe some dirt at the very bottom. They gave up and removed most of the rakes...I saw one. Not worth any discount, maybe free?

It would be nice if they actually had a ranger to drive around and control some of these groups. We had a double in front of us that would hit 3 balls a piece off the tee box and we're playing the tips hitting 50 yards. In front of them was a group of 8, yes I said 8 holding everything up. Other than that nice course.

Ocala National Golf needs so much tender loving care. Fairways and tee boxes were in bad shape. In the fairways a lot of tight lies, no grass, weeds. Some of the tee boxes had very little grass, others were fine. Greens were ok, but some had some weeds growing on them. Sand traps were in very poor condition. Price was ok because I had hot deals. We will not play there again. Sorry.
