SAME OLD STONECREST
Played here about 3 months prior, course was in great shape. Went to heck in a hand basket Black mold on the green, uncut fairways and shabby tee boxes made for a truly unremarkable round. Will not play here again
Screwed up first T
Since the last time we played the course, the front and back nines were switched. When we told by the ranger to go to the first tee, we ended up in the middle of group of 12+ golfers that had a shot gun start earlier. We waited on two groups before we had a chance to squeeze in. The pace of play was terrible. Other than that, we enjoyed the round.
Wide open, fun course to play
Very fun course to play that isnt a huge challenge. I enjoy the wide open fair ways. However just changed it to a links course and stopped mowing the roughs. That will definitely make the course harder. Greens and fairways about what you would expect from the price point. Normally not many others on course when I have played, I have played fast but also played slow practice round hitting multiple balls. Never seems to be an issue. I would recommend this course if you want a fun and relatively cheap round of golf. If you want perfect manicured course that feels stuffy, this is not your course. You want a relaxed fun round where you can work on your game then this is the course
Same Stonecrest
Played here 2-3 months ago. course was in good shape. Today’s round greens have black mold fairways are just okay. Still dislike #10, goofy layout

Great potential
It is a true link style layout with many great features. The par threes are epic and it is obvious the new owners are spending a lot of time and money to make this course better. The greens are extremely rough and will take some time, but for $25 it was definitely worth it. Can't wait until they get the greens finished because this course has a lot of potential on what is a great layout!
This course is terrible
Don’t play there. Go across the street to spruce creek south!!

Unplayable greens
The greens were so unplayable and unputtable because of long grass patches and painted bare spots. I don't know what happened to Stonecrest because they used to have decent greens...maybe the new owners??? They also flipped nines so what was once 10 is now hole #1, so anyone with GPS or a golf watch like myself should be aware that the yardage is always going to be wrong for quite awhile. Stonecrest is closed from May 23 thru June 1 so maybe they're trying to repair this hot mess of what was once a fun course to play.

Poor!!!
Asked pro to let us out early because of possible rain he said he sells deals on line and could only let me out 1o minutes early. When we arrived no one was at the course, he could have let us out early. Also the attendant at the front gate was unfriendly and not helpful. These people need a lesson from the villages. This course wasn’t worth five dollars!!!

course maintenance
Back nine was closed due to green maintenance. Played front nine twice. It appeared the front nine was punched and seeded the day before. Not a fun day on the greens. Luckily it was a hot deal for 12 bucks instead of the normal 35. Will wait a coue of weeks to play here again to let the greens settle out. Normally a nice course.

Greens were unsatisfactory....they need to be aereated!

Player beware
Total disappointment, played the course in Early March and the course was in decent shape, the fairways were thin but to be expected that time of year. The greens had been over seeded and were in very good shape. Two months later we didn’t recognize the place, the fairways were like farm pasture, still very thin Bermuda but mostly weeds and bare spots, the greens are nearly impossible to play, mostly painted dirt where the rye died, crow’s feet and burrows. Truly bad.

Course is in terrible shape, greens basically unputtable oh and it’s 45$ a round plus tax. Had us go off the back at 8:30 am by the time we made it back to number one there was 6 groups in front of us

Get what you pay for
Friendly staff but course in tough shape especially the greens. Lots of work needed

Greens were a little rough.
I was charged for 4 players. Only 2 of us played. I tried to call Golf now to get my money back and no one answered. My credit card was charged $81.00 twice.

Best Shape I have Seen this course in!
We picked a perfect weather day to golf and Stonecrest did not let us down! This is the best shape I have seen this course in. The pace of play was excellent with no waits required at each tee. We were so grateful that the starter allowed us out on the 1st tee rather than the more difficult 10th! Thank you............I noticed that all of the signs had been repainted/refreshed which looks great. The only suggestion I would have is to have the on course washrooms checked every so often throughout the day as the one I used did not have any papertowels to dry ones' hands. The handicap stall in the women's clubhouse washroom had no handsoap in the dispenser. Other than that, kudos to the staff and new owner for bringing this course along!
