Give us some space
Packed in like sardines. I have never played on such a tight window before. Groups of 4 and 5’s everywhere. On one par 5 there was a group on the green. Two separate groups at different parts of the fairway. Us on the tee box. And another group waiting behind us at the tee box. Just crazy. Felt like they scheduled on two min windows or something.
Going to give it another go later this week. Hopefully it will be better this time around.

Needs care
We played Stonecrest several weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Since then, it has gone downhill in condition. Although we have been experiencing rain here almost daily, the course was dried out and the greens are starting to brown in spots. Don’t know what happened, but the course could use some care (mostly irrigation). We probably will not play it again until this fall (if it‘s condition improves).

For the price you can’t do much better. Perfect not even close. But for 20 bucks you can’t ask for perfect

Unfriendly manager
We were told to stay on the right on the 4th hole. Well my husband’s partner hit to the left, so without thinking he drove to the left. Then he realized he wasn’t supposed to be there, and drove to the right side. Shortly thereafter a cart pulled up, and the man started yelling and actually said that someone had taken a picture of my husband on the wrong side of the fairway. He was very rude and said the people here spend a lot and need to protect their investment. He was very arrogant. My husband explained that he simply forgot, and then drove to the right when he remembered. What did this “manager” accomplish. And why didn’t they put markers where they didn’t want the carts to go? We won’t return.

Becoming the course it should be
I have been a Stonecrest resident for the last 4 years and the course is in the best shape that it’s been since being here. Most of the greens are now puttable with very little concern for burnout, weeds, or uneven cutting. The ball rolls true which is what we all want. The fairways have grown back with just a few weeds showing up.
I’d play here anytime and I LOVE the layout.

Course much improved
Overall the course has improved, thanks to the rainfall. The greens need some work still, several spots are bare and some type of fungus has infected them.

Course is a lot better than it has been in years, still needs a little work but worth playing.

THEY'RE GETTIN' there
The new owners have taken a course that was in terrible shape and are gradually improving the situation. Still some greens problems (#2, #3, #4) but the other 15 are in very good shape, but slow. Bunkers need edged and groomed. There is still a lot of "foreign" grass in some fairways but otherwise they had plenty of coverage. The layout is excellent and a lot of fun to play. Looking forward to the Fall to see how their overseed goes. For the money this course is a pretty good deal.

excellent layout
Greens have been aerated twice in the last five years.Some new grass is coming in nicely just need to address bare areas and smooth out greens for a more consistent roll.The course is good value for twenty dollars or less.The owner is trying hard to fix a course that was very badly run down after the capralletti ownership who never put any money or effort into maintaining course.The fairways and approaches are the best they have been in the last several years.Definitely need to keep working on greens and need to lower price to re-introduce the public to what was once a great golfing experience.

Overall conditions improved
Don't know why after mowing the greens they would leave piles of grass clippings on the putting surface. That was tacky!
