Great conditions
Course is in great shape. Playing behind 2 4-somes made it a long round just over 4 and a half hours. People were taking way too much time between shots and standing over the ball. The 18th was the worst - we waited a long time while the group ahead kept taking shots at the green from the top of the hill to try to make the green over the pond instead of dropping closer. The free bottle of water on a very hot day was a great courtesy from the staff.
Great service and definitely playing tomorrow!
My friend Josh and I play here at least once a week. Great service and good people! Here is always in good conditions!
Challenging course
Turtle Creek is a very challenging course with long par 4's. The course was fast because of the dry summer conditions, which made it difficult to get the distances right. All in all the course is a good value with good conditions and greens that run true.
Enjoyable course
Very forgiving, not long. Course is well maintained.
Fun course, relaxing round
This is a fun course, the front nine plays short and is very relaxing and straightforward. The back nine is more challenging and interesting, combines for a great mix.
Fun course
Good golf course on a beautiful piece of property. 18 is a gem. Staff is great.
day at Turtle
course was in good shape, fairways and rough pretty green, with recent rains, the bunkers were in bad shape, a lot of them washed out.Greens were nice, but you could tell they have had a lot of play. But all and all, still a very good course to play.
Solid Public Course
Turtle Creek is always about the same. Good, not great, conditions and an average layout. Some of the Par 4's really play similar, especially on the front. The back has a few more interesting holes but it not a layout that has a lot of variety. It is a very forgiving course, but you still need to hit a few shots.
Prime time price is close to $70, which is a lot for the course.
Overrated....OVERRATED
Course layout is kind of boring because every par 4 looks the same. Some challenging holes but overall it gets boring. My biggest issue is the price they charge. Very over priced for the area. The other issue is the rough is always over grown. Didn't appreciate the Marshall following us around. I'd play this place if you get tired of the other 20 golf courses in the area.
First Time
I was surprised and almost feel like Turtle Creek is a hidden gem. The conditions were excellent, and the layout was impressive as it reminded me a bit like courses in Myrtle Beach. It's a bit pricey at times, but to me worth the extra cost. Will play again.
Nice course
Turtle Creek is in great shape, and they are current in cart management by having players ride in fairways instead of knocking down rough.
Only criticism is the par 5 18th hole. I was playing from the blue tees and had a great drive with a small draw past the bunker on left. It was impossible to go across the water on the second shot, and a good layup shot could easily go into the water at the bottom of a steep hill. My only choice was to try and hit to the 150, which I attempted, but fairway was hard, and the ball still rolled all the way down the fairway, and I lost it. Even if it held, I would have had a tough downhill lie. I should have hit to the 170, and have it roll to the 150. Just a tough hole at 534 with no real good layup spot.
This Turtle wins the race
Nice layout, and very open for the most part (holes 10-12 are tighter and tree lined).
Course in very good condition.
My only complaint is the design of the par 5 18th. A very good drive from the blue tees got me nothing. Couldn’t go for the pond fronted green yet had virtually no decent layup area since the last 50 yards of fairway runs steeply into the pond. In retrospect, after the good drive I should have hit wedge, wedge.
Still, a very good value for my special $30 deal.
Very enjoyable round!
First time playing; nice layout and decent pace of play, especially for a holiday.
Over Priced for the area
The course conditions were good, course layout is average. The $69 peak weekend rate is way over priced for the area and the limited facilities available. Plenty of tee times available just 1 day prior to a Saturday or Sunday.
Ask first?
to make it real short, played on a soggy day which was cart path only, my friend and I, a twosome, once we finish and pull up the lady runs out and starts yelling at us saying we were goin all over the course, (which we were not), and then proceeds to say well those other two ppl with us were, and we were like what???? it's just us, so she thought that we were with the other two that were messing up the course and took it out on us, needless to say there are a lot of other courses to be played.
a great value
We booked a hot deal on Golf now and everything went smoothly. The staff was accomadating and let us out earlier than our booked tee time we got the round don in under 4 hours. The greens were a bit spotty but it is still early in the season.
Always worth the trip
Turtle Creek will likely not blow you away. It is just a very solid, well kept golf course. There's nothing I hate more than driving a long ways to get to a round and being disappointed by conditions or a boring golf course. Turtle Creek is always very well maintained and is a fun , but forgiving, course.
Good for all levels of golfer.
Nice Track Golfer Friendly
I hadn't played Turtle Creek in over 5 years. My son talked be into giving it a try because he had find memories from playing high school, districts there. I'm glad we made th trip. The course is not overly challenging but it has a lot of interesting holes. Slight elevation changes and water coming into play on about 6 holes. Th course was in pretty good shape for mid April but the rough needs to grow in in some places. Fairways, Tees and Greens were all fine. Lots of ball marks on the greens though (c'mon guys fix yours and one other). Bunkers could use some sand. They are pretty thin and hard. We teed off at 2:15 and we were done a little after 6:00 walking as a threesome on a Saturday. We did see a ranger a few times and he positioned himself to monitor multiple holes and move golfers along as necessary. The staff was very friendly and they have an excellent selection of beers. We finished our round off with a Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin. Won't find that at many courses.
Great Day to Walk 18
Me and a friend of mine decided to pick a course and walk 18 this weekend. Conditions were perfect, with temps in the 70s and sunny. We got paired with a father and son who were very good and also walking. The staff was very friendly and helped us (visibility was limited by the time we were on the 18th and the ranger helped us place our shots well) throughout the round.
Pace of play was a bit slower than we would have liked, and somehow the four of us, walking, caught up with the three ahead of us in carts. Greens were well manicured, fairways beautiful, and teeboxes were fantastic.
Despite the 45 minute drive up, I'm excited to play here again!
Open fairways, big greens
course is always lush, greens can sometimes be a bit furry and on the slow side, but for public golf it is a pretty consistent course.
Wide open fairways through almost the entire course. 16,17, and 18 are three good tough finishing holes. A few holes are repetitive and forgettable but all in all a good public course.
