Great course
This is a great course and I am so glad they are back on Golfnow. I look forward to playing this great track all summer long.
Pick another course
Save yourself the stress and find another course to play at. Rude owner, rude staff, and mediocre course. Not worth the time.
Nice course, scenic, good condition
I have played this course a couple of dozen times over the last several years and can report that it is currently in great condition. The traps need work, but tees, fairways, and greens are better than average for a public course.
The landscaping on the grounds is especially nice now that it's springtime and everything is in bloom.
Course is better than most that I have played so far this year. Sand traps need a lot of work.
Horrible experience!!
I will start off by saying that as far as condition of the course goes, this course is pretty nice. However it is not worth the drive unless you live in the town of flat rock or Bryant and even then I would drive somewhere else. I have a couple of reasons for this but we will stick with just 1 for the purpose of this review, the elderly woman that runs the course should know better than to treat paying customers the way that she treated myself and a friend that was with me. I have played at multiple courses around the tri-state area and always had pleasant experiences as you should when enjoying your weekend playing a round of golf with friends, well not this one.
As we just arrived on the 17th hole tee box there is a group we had caught up with and we were waiting for the group of 4 to get far enough ahead, she drives up yelling and tells us that she has been keeping an eye on us and noticed that we are to slow on the greens and need to just get moving because we are holding people up and we needed to go ahead and tee off and not wait for the group in front of us because we are holding everyone behind us up. Those would all be reasonable concerns for a golf Marshall on a course and would be understandable, however, the next closest group behind us were almost 2 holes back and we had just caught up with another group. My friend had pointed that out to her and it upset her so she drives on and goes to yell at another group of individuals trying to enjoy the course.
As we go to leave, she comes and asks for our names and when we ask why she needs that information she tells us because she is banning us from the course and we can no longer play there because in her words “I think y’all were smarting off to me back there.” I understand that as a business owner you can decide things like that, however as a consumer it left a terrible taste in my mouth as we had still not really found out why she was upset with us in the first place. I told her that is a terrible way to treat her customer who payed and went out of their way to come to your course. She then got out of her golf cart and came and got in my face and said “well it’s been this way for 50 years buddy.” Also very unprofessional for the owner to approach someone like that. I told her, it’s fine you don’t have to worry we will not be back and I will also leave a review letting others know how they can expect to be treated, her exact words were “Go ahead, my good golfer laugh at those.”
To end, I know there is always something going on personally to cause that type of behavior but when I say we where playing as the pace in front would allow and minding our own business, that is exactly what was happening. Simply due to that I’m not allowed back and even if I was, I would not be back. There are plenty of courses that appreciate your business and treat you with respect to have to go somewhere like that.
Where's the Grass?
I know it's early April but did Doris spend all her money on Christmas lights and ZERO on fertilizer? I've played this course for 30 years and this is worst I have ever seen it. If you like hitting off dirt with a few sprigs of grass then go play and then charge $45.00 she should be ashamed my front yard is in better shape than her Fairways and when did she start letting fivesomes play on weekends guess they rented a cabin pace of play terrible course terrible and right now it's a $30.00 course Bryce would roll over in his grave if could see how it looks. I'm sure we will go back in a month or two but save your money and go to Goose Pond for now.

Could be better
Closed bathrooms. Awful tee boxes… broken tees everywhere, markers hadnt been moved in AWHILE. Greens were terrible, a leaf blower would have went a long way. Driving range closed (all winter).

We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting and we hope you'll give us another try in the future.
Course is awesome
just challenging enough to make you work for a good score, but just easy enough to go home feeling good about how tou played
Great golf.
I really enjoy this course and it’s layout..
Great place to play in North Alabama..
Maji’s review
For this time of year, the course was in really good shape. My only complaint is that the bunkers were hard pan and very little sand.
Fabulous Find
I had an excellent day at this course. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was in excellent shape. The fairways are fairly open, but the greens are smooth and fast. The staff and golfers have done an excellent job repairing ball marks.
