golf
I like playing this course it's always in good condition.
Tired old course - but great deal.
Last time I played this muni - it was plush meaning very green. Looks like they have't had allot rain and no sprinkler system. Course was abit run down. The tee boxs were in decent shape, fairways where hard amd lacking grass in areas, the greens were fast and firm but a tad brown. Did see a hawk up close and personal. Although course was not busy allot of beginners, luckily most let me play through and was able to play 18 in 3.5 hours - the price was deal $16 included cart and range balls - not sure u can find a better deal. One note the course although most fairways are wide greens are small and par 4 even from the whites are long. If true beginner best play even the more forward tess - the white play every bit 6500+ yards.
great views
scenic views on some holes. Be careful of your approach on 11, there's a small pond in front of the green!
Good pace of play
Liked pace of play. No holdups on a Saturday morning. Grass could be better on fairways and greens were a little bumpy. All in all the course was in good shape.
Good layout, great value
Challenging layout for a 61 year old from the white tees. I think course conditions are improving daily. Great value.
Great Municipal Course
I found a hot tee time for 11:48 AM and paid $17 for a cart, range balls, and nine holes of golf. The greens were in excellent shape compared to other courses in Mobile at this time of year. I found that it was a fairly flat course as I played the front nine with variations in the fairways as they tended to be sloped and lined with tall longleaf pine trees. It was a long course from the white tees for me, but it was a fun challenging course and I will look for more hot tee times in the future. I cannot wait to get back out there and enjoy playing another nine holes
Tree Lined
This was an old style tree lined course. Several of the par fours were long with up hill approaches. Greens were large for the most part, with a lot of subtle breaks and fairly fast. Really enjoyed the day and will play again when in Mobile.
