Disappointed
The conditions at the course were HORRIBLE— the greens were impossible to putt on - they were the second worse greens we had played on this year. 3 weeks ago when we first played at Cumberland Lake, they were the best greens we had seen in five years. The pace of play was even worse than the greens - it took us almost 3 hours to play the first 9 holes. The other time we played there, it only took 3 1/2 hours to play all 18 holes. We watched a foursome take 10 minutes to putt on Hole 3 - that is unacceptable. We waited from 5-10 minutes to hit our tee shots on every hole - GOLF is a game of rhythm - we had none yesterday. If the greens are not repaired and a marshall tired to speed up extremely EvaSLOW golfers, we will NEVER play this course again. ,l
Cumberland Lake Goat Ranch
No amenities clubhouse diet coke in a can, no ice or cup. Driving range closed - no balls. Go to the cart barn and pick your own cart, old gas carts! Horrible cart paths missing asphalt. Course was packed 3 groups on every hole - took 5.5 hours!! Didn’t know, never again!
Goat Ranch
The course IS Horrible. The only decent part is the greens and they’re not good. The place is rough with drainage and irrigation ruts everywhere. They are building new tee boxes on one hole and you tee off from the fairway. Cart paths are bumpy and broken up. Not worth the price.
Great Course except
The Course was in really good shape. Greens are a challenge to read and putt. A lot of break. I would have to play there more to get better at putting on them. Only issue we had was that there was a group of 5 players two groups ahead of us that were as slow as Christmas. They never let the 2some behind them play through or our group of 3 players. We had to wait on every shot. Whole course was backed up behind us. Almost a 5 hour round.
Cumberland Golf
Course was in pretty good shape. Fairways were green and coming out of winter dormancy. Tees were a little beat up but still playable. Greens were a little on the slow side and a little hard to get them to stop on approaches. Most of the greens are elevated. Some holes were tight and keeping drive in fairway a must if hitting driver. 5 and 6 really need to be careful. Only had time to play 9 holes. Would have like to see the rest. The other thing is most of the greens are dime greens and elevated. Have to be accurate to hit and maybe hold the greens. Staff was great. Came late so didn’t see a beverage cart. Was confusing on where to go to drop off clubs and where to park. No bag drop area. Just pay, get the cart and go to car and get clubs.
Cumberland Lakes Golf
Course in good shape especially for a public course.
Plays fairly short, good for older golfers, like me.
Loved it
Went out with my brother and best friend. The folks in clubhouse were very friendly. Fun course they’re doing some upgrades on !
Frustrating Experience
GolfNow / Cumberland Lake Golf Club Review (Played April 18, 2026)
I had a very disappointing experience at Cumberland Lake Golf Club, and unfortunately it involved both the course operations and GolfNow customer service.
I arrived for my scheduled GolfNow tee time only to find that the course did not have my reservation in their system. After a lengthy back-and-forth with the pro shop, I was told I likely wouldn’t be able to play due to a tournament. This was especially frustrating given that I had driven 45 minutes and specifically planned my Saturday around this round.
Despite being initially turned away, I was eventually able to join a group of members who happened to be teeing off shortly after my scheduled time. Interestingly, even the members mentioned that the pro shop staff member was known for being difficult to deal with, which unfortunately matched my experience.
Once on the course, we were playing behind a tournament, and pace of play was extremely slow. It took roughly four hours to get through 12 holes. By the 13th tee, with multiple groups stacked up and still a significant portion of the round left, both I and the group I was with decided to leave.
The course itself is a decent public layout with some challenging and enjoyable holes. Greens and overall conditioning were average—nothing exceptional, but serviceable for a local track.
The larger issue came afterward. I contacted GolfNow customer support, expecting some reasonable resolution given that I only completed 12 holes due to circumstances outside my control. Instead, I was offered a prorated credit of about $17 on a $60 round. From my perspective, that was not an acceptable solution considering the time, travel, and expectation of playing a full 18-hole round. I escalated the issue and ultimately disputed the charge with my credit card provider, who sided with me.
Overall, this was a frustrating experience driven by poor coordination at the course and unsatisfactory customer service from GolfNow. While the course layout has potential and I would consider playing it again under different circumstances, I will not be returning after this experience, and I would caution others booking through GolfNow to be aware of possible issues with tee time handling and resolution support.
Won’t be back
Golf shop didn’t want to honor my golf now tee time, they said they didn’t have any tee times and sent me away. Luckily a member offered to let me play with his 3some. However, we were only able to play 13 holes and then ran in to a complete log jam. We were four hours into our round when we were on the 14th tee box, with two groups ahead of us on the hole - the members 3some and I both decided to call it a day. Glad they were able to show me how to get back to the clubhouse on the roads.
The older lady working in the clubhouse was very unfriendly and incompetent at her job. One of the members in my group commented that she is always unfriendly..
Will not be back and hoping GolfNow can provide me a refund..
Course is a fun, challenging layout and is in decent shape.
Hidden Gem
First time playing and was very impressed. Course is in far better shape than the ones closer to my home in Eva. The lady at the check-in told us we would be back. We will soon. Highly recommend this course
Did not honor rate
Booked a 4 player promotion for $45 per person through golfnow. We drove 30 minutes instead of going to our local course because of this rate. When we arrived to pay, they had our tee time booked but rung us up at $56 per person. When we showed the confirmation that it was supposed to be $45, they very rudely stated that it was not their problem and that if we didnt pay online, we had to pay full price. Even after explaining that there was no option to pay online for the 4 player promotion, they refused to honor their advertised rate. We paid the inflated rate and completed our round. Afterwards, I checked later tee times that same day and they were still advertising the 4 player promotion with no option to pay online. I like this course and play their Hot Deals often, but the principle of advertising specials to get people to drive out there, then charging them full rate is frustrating.
Cumberland
The grass was still dormant when I played but from the blue tees this is a challenge and I was very happy I went to play here
Cumberland 08.28
Due to weekend golf tournament Maintenance was out in full force…..overall the course was in great shape with three negatives……ball wash station either contained no water or filthy water, tee boxes need attention and areas around greens need grass cut lower.
