Great Golf great location.

Amazing course, challenging lay out, but very fun. Come challenge your skills on the back nine. So much fun.

Pricey but great course and worth a round

Visiting from So Cal, it was this or the Paso Robles CC. We choose this and wasn’t disappointed. Played at 7:20am start time which was great for flow but cold. Front 9, fairways very generous but most shots into the green needed to be accurate. Greens were fast and rolled true. Couple of dead spots but to be expected in late fall. Back 9 was much more challenging with some forced carries that made for tough decisions of laying up (going for bogey) or going for the pin knowing anything errand was out of bounds. Staff was great, our round with two only took 3:50 but we were the third group out. Allowed to play as a duo so that was an added bonus.

Hunter Ranch was Awesome

Great layout with challenging shots. You have an elevation changes, water, dog leg bends, and fairway trees to make the course challenging. Loved it.

A-plus

Hunter Ranch is a top notch playing experience. Fairways are generous but impeccably conditioned only to be exceeded by the perfect greens which are smooth, fast and true. This course is very difficult to score well on, but it’s also a course that beginners can play. Beware the stretch from 11 through 13, this courses ‘Amen Corner’. 12 is one of the toughest par 4’s in the central coast region. In my opinion, the four par 5’s are the real strength of Hunter Ranch…6 and 15 are really fun drives that, provided a good landing spot, can kick your drive 50 - 75 yards or more for iron shots to the green, while 7 and 17 are wonderfully designed three-shotters that require three precision shots just to have a birdie putt. Special thank you to Hunter Ranch for their $59 twilight special, which provides bargain price access to this high quality daily access golf course. Will be coming back again and again.

Great golf course

Beautiful weather and great course conditions. The greens were fast and challenging. The fairways were in great shape. Will definitely return even with the 2 hour commute.

Substantial Maintenance Needed

The course is a nice, challenging layout with great views. Lots of elevation changes, which makes it somewhat difficult for the >15 handicapper. Greens were in decent shape. The fairways are very rough - carts must be driven very slowly. There are weeds and invasive grasses throughout the fairways - they have not been well maintained. Much of the cartpath system is unmaintained dirt (not gravel - just dirt). The other facilities were extremely run down and not being maintained. Overall, the cost of play here is more than double what it should be for the course conditions.

We booked an early tee time, expecting to play a quick round as a twosome. The front nine was fast - about 1:40. For some inexplicable reason, the pro shop sent a foursome out on the back side right in front of us as we made the turn. Ended up waiting for them on every shot and they didn't understand the concept of letting a group through. No marshalls on the course. Still ended up playing in about 4 hours, but it was very frustrating, and the proshop shouldn't have allowed the back-nine start.

Really nice

The course was very nice. Just wasn’t a big fan of the golf cart auto control feature. And weather was really hot. Going to wait for cooler weather to return
