Challenging but fair
The course layout was varied with elevation changes and fairways with uneven lies. The course has force carries and several dog legs that require precision off the tee. Sand traps are strategically placed, while boasted fluffy sand. The greens were the most impressive aspect of this golf course; multi-tiered, fast, and smooth. Most of greens were of good size with diverse flag placements. You will be served keeping the ball bellow the pin.
Hit em straight
I played for $65…solid value for that price. Great shot makers course…be prepared to turn it both ways to score well. Highly recommended!
Awesome overall experience
Super friendly staff. Amazing course condition. Excellent food. Great rate?
Challenging especially the back
Friendly staff . Greens in great shape . We did have the the slowest two some in front but passed at turn . Lots of forced carries on back .
Hunter is a quality course .
My only real complaint are trees in middle of fairways and the gophers ? There are a few holes that if you get out of the fairway your ball is going to be in a hole . Certainly don’t want a bunch of poison used . The course in general is well maintained and the trees looking very healthy .especially the ones in the middle of the fairways lol . I really like the forced carries on the back , The back is tough but really fun .!
Always a challenge
Club selection is a must on this tough but fair golf course you must use your brain and every club in your bag to successfully navigate your way around the facility…
Great Golf great location.
Amazing course, challenging lay out, but very fun. Come challenge your skills on the back nine. So much fun.
Pricey but great course and worth a round
Visiting from So Cal, it was this or the Paso Robles CC. We choose this and wasn’t disappointed. Played at 7:20am start time which was great for flow but cold. Front 9, fairways very generous but most shots into the green needed to be accurate. Greens were fast and rolled true. Couple of dead spots but to be expected in late fall. Back 9 was much more challenging with some forced carries that made for tough decisions of laying up (going for bogey) or going for the pin knowing anything errand was out of bounds. Staff was great, our round with two only took 3:50 but we were the third group out. Allowed to play as a duo so that was an added bonus.
Hunter Ranch was Awesome
Great layout with challenging shots. You have an elevation changes, water, dog leg bends, and fairway trees to make the course challenging. Loved it.
A-plus
Hunter Ranch is a top notch playing experience. Fairways are generous but impeccably conditioned only to be exceeded by the perfect greens which are smooth, fast and true. This course is very difficult to score well on, but it’s also a course that beginners can play. Beware the stretch from 11 through 13, this courses ‘Amen Corner’. 12 is one of the toughest par 4’s in the central coast region. In my opinion, the four par 5’s are the real strength of Hunter Ranch…6 and 15 are really fun drives that, provided a good landing spot, can kick your drive 50 - 75 yards or more for iron shots to the green, while 7 and 17 are wonderfully designed three-shotters that require three precision shots just to have a birdie putt. Special thank you to Hunter Ranch for their $59 twilight special, which provides bargain price access to this high quality daily access golf course. Will be coming back again and again.
Blues tees will test you!
Long bring your A game, greens are tiered watch the diagram on the carts..
Great place.
I love the course. It's beautiful. Tough course especially the back nine holes.
I will be back

Great golf course
Beautiful weather and great course conditions. The greens were fast and challenging. The fairways were in great shape. Will definitely return even with the 2 hour commute.
