Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Average course

We’ were 30 minutes late teeing off - we were not informed of this - there was no way of getting 18 holes in but we’re charged for 18. Pace of golfing was horrendous - waited several minutes on every hole we got played. Greens were in good shape, tee off boxes were in poor shape

Turn in carts early

Pace of play was slow. Staff came out to number 10 green and stated all carts have to be off course at 5:30. Staff should informed you they are going to cut your play short by approximately 45 minutes so you could elect to pay for 9 holes instead of 18. Thought we were the customer but now understand their way of managing their business.

I want to pass this on about Apache Creek Gold Club, The course it self is unlike most Courses, It is mostly flat, lots of sand so use a older set of clubs so you don't beat up your good set! The course is in good shape other then the driving range which was really beat up. The biggest problem we had was we had a 1:35 tee time, we were able to get to hole 17 because they were so backed up there letting people out with on 5 min intervals! when a worker came to us and said that this is our last hole, our comment: why? there comment: because i said so! the cart needed to be in by 5:30! They don't tell you that when you pay your $45 to play 18 holes! One of our people said why don't you have a ranger out here pushing the play action and his comment was YOU CAN THANK THE SNOW BIRDS FOR THAT!! Never in my life have seen anything like this!! If you get a tee time after 1:30 you will not get 18 holes of golf in and Apache Creek Golf Club does not care!!! They have no problem taking your money and care less if you are a satisfied customer!

Ok to play

Easy to find easy check in,carts used but cleaned, sand bottles on carts, water for towels, water for us at start and course, on time, tees pretty beat, fairways dry and roll, roughs even drier, bunkers with minimal sand, greens sometimes a little lumpy, played in4 hrs, can’t take carts to car, hard to leave due to traffic after 3 pm, seems like not being cared for as well as before, but still playable

There needs to be some thought put into this having the carts in by 5:30, when it doesn’t even get dark until 6:00.

Over crowded!

Tee off at 2pm had to be off the course by5:30. We only got to play 11 holes before we were asked to pull the pin when we finished the hole and head in. I will not be going back to to pay $45. For 9 holes..

Hidden gem

Golfing in Phoenix during the winter is very expensive. Tee time prices range from 45 to 450 dollars. The average price for a tee time with a membership card like Troon or Arcis is 80 dollars. To my surprise Apache Creek was a nice course with excellent greens that only cost 45 dollars. I will play it again. My rounds pace of play was great. However behind me they were stacked and slow. I only knew this because i lost a club and drove back a few holes and witnessed theur pace of play..

Slowplay

On the back 9, a foursome was sent out between groups which had back to back tee times. This slowed play down to have 4 foursomes waiting on the same hole. Very slow play, was told we could not finish our round. Staff member took the flags off the greens.
