Golfer Reviews
Overseed on Fairways is only good thing
The winter overseed on the fairways is very nice but that's about it. Greens are bumpy and speed varies each hole. Tee boxes are bomb craters with even tree roots right across the tee line. Bunkers are solid rock with grass growing up out of them.
Luckily the course was nearly empty and we played in just under 4 hours.
Horrible experience
Greens are like putting on shaggy carpet. Staff is atrocious rude. It began to rain halfway through my round and I asked for a raincheck. They tell me rain was forecasted so they don't give rainchecks. So.....if the forecast is for 1% rain and it does rain, then still no rain check? Absolutely horrible, great way to make sure you never have repeat customers. Well done.
Good course….bad bunkers
I like the course in general. Nice setting and good layout. Looking good coming out of overseeding. Greens were in good condition, fairways are a little furry, but I assume they will be cut back soon. The major problem is the condition of the bunkers. Puddling because of the recent rains was understandable, but the lack of sand and huge rocks are inexcusable. It’s a complete crapshoot on how the ball will come out. The bunkers have been a problem every time I’ve played here. If it’s such a consistent issue, I suggest they should turn them into grass bunkers. Golfers just want some consistency and that might be a solution.
Nice course but not at it’s best due to over-seeing
Torres Blances is one of our favourite Green Valley Courses - we usually play it once or twice per year whilst on family visits. This time the course looked great but the fairways were long and the greens were very slow. Bunkers also in poor condition. We realised that the course had just re-opened after over-seeding and was not yet in prime condition.
Course Improving
I also played Torres Blancas on 9/28. Fairways much improved. Greens still slow and squirmy, but better. Greenskeeper needs to tamp down around cups, many raised like mini volcanos. Traps continue to be a disaster--combination of no sand, lots of mud, puddles, and hardpan. Have to drop out of them. I nearly lost a ball in one of their bunker's giant puddles. Course layout always good with multiple tees. Overall, good bargain. especially with so many courses in Green Valley closed because of over-seeding.
Great course
Only had issues with the sand traps, there is no sand in them, only small and large gravel, really bad for the clubs.
Torres Blancas Golf Reciew
The course was beautiful after recent over seeding. The only negative was the greens being extremely slow since they haven’t been cut back yet. That should happen this week. When it does the course will be in perfect condition.
Very nice. Plush and clean
Beautiful fairway condition with overseeding recently completed. Greens unshaved and bumpy but this is expected during the main maintenance season on the desert course. Very helpful and gracious staff. Excellent overall.
Not Quite Ready For Prime Time!
TB just re-opened after over seeding plus a ton of rain. No roll on fairways and greens unbelievably slow as grass very long. Putting was an adventure. But in a couple weeks, both should be much better assuming no more downpours. However, the traps are absolutely horrible---totally unplayable--no sand, mud, debris, and hardpan. All of them need an expensive redo, which will take a good bit of time.
course conditions
The absolute worst conditions i have ever encountered!!!!!!!!Leftover grass on fairways, leftover piles of badly cut grass on greens!!!Bunkers washed out foll of rocks and tree debris?A burn pit going between hole#17 and #18,ill never play their again even if they paid me,it should be shut down, what a disaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
