Lake Arlington Golf Course
About
Owned by the city of Arlington, this course has been around since 1963–it’s located on the north edge of Lake Arlington and surrounded by native trees and wildflowers. Ralph Plummer designed this easy course, incorporating little water and no bunkers.
The first hole is one of the most difficult, playing over 400 yards into a dogleg-left fairway dominated by a huge pecan tree. Holes 13 and 14 play near the lake–the 13th goes 389 yards uphill and doglegs right, and the 14th measures 240 yards downhill to a green protected by water on the left side. Even though it’s a long par 3, there is a dramatic drop from tee to green.
Getting there : From Dallas, take I-30 west and exit East Chase Pkwy. Turn left, travel about 4 miles, and you'll come to the intersection of Spur 303 and Green Oaks Blvd.

For First Time Players
The front nine was kind and friendly. Not to difficult and makes it somewhat easy for players to have birdie and par opportunities. The back nine is harder with a couple of challenging Par 5's and 3's.
I had a great time and will be back to play more. It's a great value.
Nice Course
First time will go back...Greens in good shape but must read grain...little sandy from dressing...Good value and good folks...
Nice course
First time i played this course...greens were great, fairways were nice and full..I will be back
We almost forgot about this gem!
None of us could remember why we stopped playing here but trust me when I say it's truly the best municipal course around D/FW hands down! Not much critical water and bunkers are few.
The layout appears to attract walkers (Not Us!) but the pace of play did not suffer at all for our 3.75 hours round. Personally, I didn't go to the restaurant but the other guys did and service was on point. I'd have actually given 5 stars except for the "unlevel tee boxes", but we figure that comes with good pricing and conditions of a Muni. I'll be back!
BORING COURSE
Firstly, the course layout is straight, straight, and straight. It's okay for beginner players since layout is as expected, straight all the time with exception of some dog left and rights. Also this place has no driving range where you can warm up. If price is lowered, then it may be worth the money. But this place doesnt even have single sand bunker to make course interesting. I was bored and wanting to go home by the time it was 9 holes.
Lake Arrington golf course
Course in good shape. Greens are in great shape. I enjoyed my my round.
Great shape
Lake Arlington was in great shape!! It’s winter fairways of course but the greens were so green and smooth. We would give 5 stars across the board but we got behind a slow group of three who seemed to not care that they were holding everyone up and no course Marshall to help out.
NEVER AGAIN
had three booked at 12:00
girl friend found she could play
booked her (full price) at 12:00
figured the unknown guy would be okay with switching to 12:00
at 8:00 Sunday morning MIKE from the course (they HATE GolfNow ther) called and asked if we were trying to pull a fast one.told hime the plan .he stated HOT DEALS could not be changed.
CHANCELLED ALL FOUR
went to mansfield nat'l with tee off18
Perfect Weather Day
Course was crowded, but our group of four finish a little over four hours. The day was perfect upper 60's - low 70's with a slight wind of 5-10.
Fairways were good, greens were fast especially the back 9. Some were even damp around late noon. Court lady came around four times at this course, that was good to see. The course has nice views especially on the turn around. I enjoyed today on the course more of a relaxing day to play not competing against my group. Personally made the round more friendly for me. Which actually helps me enjoy the course more and still score a good card. Golfers beware the first cut on the course is no fun, so keep your balls in Play. Also no bunkers noted at this course.
Let us know when there's a tournament going off at same time as my tee time PLEASE
Had a 1:15 tee time. Showed up to find a big tournament going off the front. Pro shop sent us off on #10. Was crowded on the back. Would be nice to know a tournament going off at same time as my tee time! Course in EXCELLENT condition! Good value
My Home Course
A great everymans course. No sand and the back nine is much more challenging than the front. A little wet this year so the front of the greens was gobbling up the lofty shots.
Course is really green
Course was in good shape, nice and green. Lots of grass, greens in good shape also.
No Water Coolers
Its peak summer time in Texas, and I played this course at 3pm on a Sunday. It must have been 105 degrees that day, and not a singe water cooler on the course.
Also no driving range, but there has to be water out there to drink in 100 degree heat.
