Great Golf Course!
It was a great surprise to play on this course. The greens are in great condition and the layout is challenging enough. The only improvement area I see is the signage between the different tee holes, since it is quite difficult for a person who don’t knows the layout of the course.
Golf Course Improvement
Definetely the course need improvements ....The green are coming back but the fairways need maintenace and have marshals on the course. People ride almost on the greens and the grass is missing on a bunch of spots
Has improved a lot
Like night and day since last time I played there (a couple of years ago). Good pace of play, seems to have drained well, and greens in very good condition. Played Palmetto and Post Oak. Will be back soon.
Cart paths need work. The cart we used was not in very good shape.
Greens were good
I play here from time to time. today was a good day course condition was about7.5 to 8 I'm happy with that . If the greens roll straight it's a good day. And they did.
Ok course, better courses at that price
Longwood once upon a time was great. Since management change and even bigger losing a portion of one their 9’s; it has gone down hill. The greens are missing grass in areas and are not well kept. The fairway is ok and the signage for detection is bad. They are loosing cart path, and portions of fairway. At this price range you can find nicer more well kept courses. My hope is the flooded 9 will be sold to Harris county and they can focus on 18. A decent hot deal will make it worth it for now but not at full price
Beautiful course for the money.
I live in Dallas and had a chance to play here on a recent visit. The greens and fairways were in good shape. The greens are a little slow, but healthy. The tall trees and scenic views are splendid and reminded me of SC. I definitely want to plan a Houston golf trip soon and include this spot. -Dr J
Much Better
Longwood was a course that I played regularly, but I haven’t been there for a couple of years. The course had endured a couple of floods and the greens were some of the worst around. They have come a long way in getting the greens back to a playable condition. There were still some spots on a few greens that still need work and the grass was a little long, but it is much better than it was a few years ago. The only thing now that will help continue its road to recovery is managing the players. It was still a little slow because players are unwilling to allow faster (single) players to play through, and a lot of carts extremely close to the greens. If management can remind players to not drive so close to the greens, it would look a lot better and be more playable in those areas. Maybe employ marshals for each nine.
unique 27 holes a must for shot makers
classic hole & tree line venue with varied landscape terrain.
Much improved
So I’ve played here a few times going back to when it opened after the flood and occasionally after that. But to see the improvements to this course is awesome to see. The greens are in great shape after all they’ve been through. As the grass improves after the winter it can only get better in those certain areas. Only thing I would recommend is for more signs on where to go from one hole to the next. Most have them but a couple of more signs especially when it comes to getting on the main cross street.
