Summer heat
The course is in good condition for this time in summer heat. Irrigation and green improvements over the last couple of years show. Greens were firm but not fast. Tres were in good shape. Fairways in good shape - a few with thin grass and tight lies.
Staff is friendly and efficient.
I will play again.
Fine For Cheap Rate
Greens, Tee Boxes and Cart Paths still need work. Also standing water on a few holes which seemed hard to understand considering the extreme heat and lack of recent rain. Still a fun course but only on a very reduced price.
Awful Greens
More than half of the greens were destroyed. Made putting a nightmare and for $45 I recommend going elsewhere.
Longwood
Fairways were in good condition
pace of play was very good
some of the greens still need some work
Always a fun track
The course is in good shape. I wish I knew there was a tournament but we did get ahead of it for 16 of my 18 holes.
Hacksaw
The course is in great shape, staff
has done a very good job with green recovery.
Fairways are very good especially considering the heat of the summer.
Even the sand traps show improvement.
Overall longwood looks to be on the way back to being one of the top courses in Houston area.
Well done folks!
Getting Good
Only about 3-4 greens that still need work. Played Pine and Palm. Fairways were great. It was hot but fun!!! If they can get the greens fixed up this place will be sweet. Though, also need to tell people to fix their freaking divots on tee boxes. Jeez it was bad on a few. All in all good day.
Longwood
Nice course
Has 3 nine hole courses
I enjoy the variety every time I go
Getting better
I've played at Longwood GC numerous times. The course has suffered a lot of setbacks due to the floods we've had in our area. However the course was in good shape this time. Still has a little more improvement to go but it looks like it is headed in the right direction. A couple of the greens still have some splotches but again much better than it has been in years. The maintenance crew needs to improve on mowing around the greens. I remember one area the mower blade, apparently, was uneven and too low. Providing LGC doesn't get flooded this year, the course should be in tip top shape by fall.
Longwood
Course is nice love that they have 27 holes
Condition was pretty good considering rain we’ve had.
Greens need some work though.
Getting better
Played Pine & Palm. The fairways are in great shape. Looks like the work on the greens is beginning to pay off. Still some work to. Bunkers should be next on the list. Wish the food service would have stayed open longer (finished out round at 3:00, but on all closed down by then).
Good day
The course was in good shape greens were in good shape very few issues
Cart Paths ----- WOW
1. Tee boxes need to have markers painted otherwise in good shape
2. Fairways appear to be in pretty good shape.
3. Greens looked hard as rock so you'd think ROLL. Nope, even downhill putts on greens didn't roll worth a darn.
4. Cart Paths - OMG these things are atrocious! I tripped getting out of cart at tee box on one hole and went falling forward into the grass, snapping the shaft on my driver. One of the other players I was with, did the exact same thing going back to the cart from teeing off but smacked the concrete cart path behind his cart. All because of a 4" curb and a 8+" drop off to the ground. The rest of the cart paths are all broken concrete. they should provide 4-wheelers instead of golf carts to get around the course. Every curb that some engineer thought was a good idea when building this course needs to be removed. You don't see other courses with curbs except where absolutely necessary. These cart paths need to be re-done before Longwood gets sued for someone hurting themselves.
