18 hole choice,
Hey I really like playing this course, when in good condition, but if this 18 hole,s include the Pine nine my opinion will change asap, these nine hole,s are unforgiving, a extreme downer, and to put it into the rotation, ruin,s the course, the other two nine hole,s is the only reason I come to Longwood at all, I hope ya understand, what a treat these two are to play, and the only two nine hole,s that are somewhat playable, and fun for your slightly below average golfer,s. Please include this 18, instead of taking the fun out of this golf course, I promise you I,ll play there much more, instead of very little if the Pine nine is part of your plan. From a strung out golfer, Thank,s
Guy in pro shop has ZERO personality… kinda made me think of the course itself…. He even tried to to charge my guest that I already paid for
Superb
Thanks for everything yesterday and keep up the good work!!
Goods and bad
Bartender and cart girl were super friendly, the rest of the staff were just plain, not rude, but not friendly. The course was in good shape. The one thing I could not believe is the kitchen closed at 1:00pm. Why on earth would a kitchen at a golf course close at 1:00pm? My customer and myself were starving and there was nothing to eat! We finished around 3:30pm and really wanted some food. Other than that, it was nice.
Greens slow
Course is good overall. The greens were very slow and mowing of them was strange. Pace of play was good and this is a fun course to play
Been a while since Ive played here.
Layout is still good. Greens are growing in nicely. Will be interesting once the course is reduced to 18 and Cypress Lakes is closed. Not sure how 18 holes will support the members sufficiently. The cashier was not the friendliest guy as opposed to the starter was joyful and smiled as if glad to see us.. Carts in good condition. No beverage cart on the course on Tuesday.
Good place
My first time here at Longwood. I like that there’s 27 holes so when I come back I get a potentially different course. People at the pro shop and the starter (yes, the starter) all were very personable and welcoming. There’s a nice driving range, putting green, and short game area , which is nice. I had a 10:14 am tee time and ended up playing the first 13 holes by myself. Pace of play was great. Group in front of me waited for me on 14 to see if I wanted to join them. Nice folks.
Course is a nice layout. Plenty challenge for me. Lots of tree-lined fairways. Houses along some fairways but they were back enough for me. Some water hazards. This time of year the course is in “winter condition”. Grass is mostly still dormant and there’s plenty of tight lies. Greens were good, almost slow. After my round we had a drink in the clubhouse, which seemed fairly nice. I will definitely play here again!
Overall pretty good
Pro shop and starter folks were very friendly and welcoming. Cart in great shape. Nice practice range, putting green, and chipping area. I liked the challenge of the course and layout. I’d say the fairways and tee boxes were in “winter” condition, with a lot of tight lies and grass-less areas . Greens seemed slow perhaps recently sanded? Price is reasonable for the area. Enjoyed a drink after my round in the bar area and it was very reasonable.
Longwood
Great layout but needs tlc. Greens are greatly improved but better general maintenance of fairways, tees, and areas around greens would help improve the overall experience.
