Nice course
They really do a nice job at this course of making you feel comfortable. From the clubhouse to the driving range to the on course beverage cart. This course was in good shape. The greens were quick but fair and you can tell that they take pride in their golf course.
I was hoping for improvement
Last year was a disappointing season for course conditions. There was a major drop off of the quality conditions we’ve come to expect. So far this season the general conditions have slid a little more. The first impression is the practice green. It’s bumpy and there are bare spots. The greens looked to be improving, but are getting back to last year’s condition. The new issue is dandelions. We now have fields of them around the course. Almost all of it is in the rough, but as most golfers know, we spend a lot of time there. It’s never been like this in the 20 years I’ve played there. The retired guys I know continue to play at Phillips Park because it’s the most affordable course in the area.
I have been golfing here for 35 years even before the additions on front When I need a good round I come here Not a long course but Its my home away from home I enjoy it so I recommend it to anyone
Always a solid course
The course was in good shape for early May. It's always a good day here. Pace of play was acceptable.
Ranger issues
Well, we did the golf etiquette thing and let a single and a double through our foursome. After 2
Holes on the back
9. The ranger stated pushing us staying we are 20 minutes off pace
We explained the situation to him and he did not say mic but help
Me out or you may have to skip a hole.
Told home that was not going
To happen. He then called someone down from the clubhouse and that manager stated arguing with us while we
We’re trying to complete our round The skipped back a bit after that but kinda ruined our round. Nobody was behind us for a the remainder of the round.
Good course for the price
For a muni type course the conditions are pretty good and has a pretty decent layout. Not long even from the tips so not really appropriate for top notch long players, but not bad for most golfers.
Phillips Park
Some of the nicest staff I've encountered. Course was in good shape. Value is there no matter what.
