About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

Great course
Really nice layout. Green was in great shape. Pace was really good.

Would have been cheaper at the course than what I paid on golfnow

Pace
Played two guys that were soooo slow. Hit multiple tee shots from the tips that went 50 yards. Would park the cart on the path then go walking around in the ruff and fairway. Obviously didn’t let us through. Back nine was 3 hours with 15 minute waiting on every tee.

Still needs work
The layout is great. Challenging with water on most holes. Surprised that the fairways and greens were in good shape. Some of the tee boxes need some work. Bunkers need some major overhaul. Overall the course is decent. Will play again

Confusing and Rocky Sand
The overall course was fine, but I was very upset about a couple of things.
1) The signs for each hole told you the hole number and the par. No where did it mention the yardage or have a picture of the layout of the hole (fairway/bunkers/water, etc). On some holes you literally had no idea if there was a dog-leg, water or bunkers unless you’ve previously played here.
2) There were no signs/indications on which way to drive to the next hole. I think we had to turn around 3 times because we drove to the 11th hole instead of the 5th hole. They only had faded arrows on the ground to “point” You in the right direction, but didn’t have any markings when you’d come to a fork in the road.
3) 95% of the sand traps we saw were littered with huge rocks. The other 5% of the traps looked completely dried up and was like hitting off dried up dirt.
I’ll personally never make the hour long drive to play here again.

Bunkers not racked
Every bunker was like hitting off a dirt pile. Some of t boxes looked like they were diseased, and of course Canada Geese everywhere, these birds are dirty and disgusting, need to be hearded up and slaughtered

Poor pace of play
The extremely poor pace this particular day was due to them having a large “outing” go off right before us. They should have anticipated delays from this - and left extra spacing after the outing.
