Variety of challenges

The course is well structured. It challenges all clubs in the bag, and requires good course strategy. The course is in excellent condition with well kept greens. Sand traps could be better as they were somewhat hard and lacking sand.

You can't beat this course for the money...

The front nine and back nine are two totally different experiences. For a local, affordable, park district course, Phillips Park is a great place to both learn and hone your skills. It's not too challenging, and there is plenty of room for error. This is a great family golf course.

My kind of course

In very nice shape, greens were beautiful and many of them are quite large. Only problem was some of the rough hadn't been mowed recently, had trouble finding wayward shots which slows you down too much.

all good but short on carts

our tee time was at 11:55 and at 11:15,they were out of carts.they busted there butts off to recycle carts but it slowed the pace down.other than that,a great course that will punish you if you get off the fairways.07-05-2013

Course has old time appeal and is in good condition.

You go off on time and play has been OK, a little on the slow side but there is usually a lot of activity. Good driving range. Course "ranger" keeps watch on play. Staff exceedingly friendly after you get past the guy at the front desk.

This course has great value

Although I consider myself a novice, I feel that this course could challenge the normal golfer. This course is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. The 9th and 18th holes are par 5's so I feel that it was fun getting to do a nice long drive to finish off the day.

Short but fun

Overall, a fun place to play for the average player as the length of the course is on the shorter side giving you a chance to score well without any major mistakes with mostly wide open fairways and few trees given that it's a links style course.

However, because of the short length overall there tends to be a higher number of people walking the 18 which tends to cause a bit of a back up.

Very playable without too many hazards. Course is in excellent condition.

Phillips park is a good course for intermediate and beginner golfers. The front nine is open and level whereas the back nine is wooded and hilly. The course is in excellent condition and the varying terrain makes for an enjoyable round of golf.

Great course to play since its been remodeled

Loved the condition of the course. I was a little upset that people were still out mowing the lawns so late in the morning. It was distracting at times but no reason not to go back.

Coarse in good condition

Staff is very very slow, get there early as the check in process takes time. Also slow at the snack bar at the turn.
