Interesting course
Interesting course with good bent grass grass. Overall condition was fair. Frist time I have played a course that had no bunkers. This probably why the course slope is fairly low, but it is no push over. Force layups on some of the par 4s, make for some challenging 2nd shots. Not a flat course, need to play it once to know where to hit tee shots.
Solid overall
Great course to play but a lot of grumpy old people that take forever. It would have been great overall if not for that. Course was in great shape though.
Nice desert course
My wife and I played this course for the first time on 7/21. The course is rather flat, but was in very good shape. There are no bunkers which made my wife very happy. The greens were playing pretty fast and for a course in the middle of a housing development, there were very few houses to contend with. Overall, a nice course that we will play again.
Compares to a small town Midwest Course
Lot of courses like this in the Midwest, built on land of little value with a lot of really short holes. This course has a number of blind tee shots and has a desert area that crosses several of the par 4
Problem is you can not see the fairway or where the desert starts.
It is fun to play, but should cost no more than $20 in summer
The cart paths are in serious need of repair. There is a par five on the front nine that has a hard surfaced area near the green that goes all the way to the OB, problem is that you cannot see this from the hitting area. If you play here a lot probably not an isssue
Good Budget Nice Course
Overall A nice course! Best bang for your buck around the Sedona Area! SHoot a practice round here before you play in sedona!
Unique with elevation changes
I didn't know what to expect not having played this course before. It was a HOT June day in the desert and there were not many people around. The temperature on this day was not 80, but more like 108. In the heat we got around in just under 3 hours. What was surprising and unique was the fact this is the first course I have played that had no sand bunkers, that's right no sand. However there was plenty of elevation changes, either you were hitting uphill or down hill which made the course a bit more interesting. Also there are some spectacular views as you transverse the course. We played from the back tees which are only 6325, a bit more length would be good. The par threes were interesting and the course itself was a bit of a pleasant surprise even without the sand. the greens were soft and true and in June that is unusual.
I would come back and play again.
awesome course
Thumbs up! !Great track! No bunkers makes for a worry free round. Just watch your placement.
good course layout
Grass needs attention. greens are fairly good fairways need help.
Why can't you get the course to look like the other courses in the Verde valley not including of course beaver creek which is now closed.
Nice layout, good pace.
Played mid-morning on Friday. 3:45 pace. First time here. Good variety of holes. Not real long. Greens a bit slow. Staff very friendly and helpful. Not a bad value for this area.
Course management is the key to playing here.
Verde Santa Fe has relatively large open fairways and large greens; however the key to playing here is course management as several of the holes have ravines that bisect the fairways and the back 9 in particular has several blind tee shots.
The green had been recently aerated and sanded when we played otherwise I probably would have rated 4 stars.
The only negative to the course is the condition of the rough and the transition of the rough to the "waste lands" of the desert.
Improving rapidly
We played the course 5 times over the last week. The greens had just been punched and sanded but they were filling in very nicely.
From the back tees and when the wind is blowing the course is very challenging and interesting.
The staff were very accommodating and the GolfNow Hot deal was a great value.!!
Great Deal
This course seems to be the best deal around currently. Played here with my buddy and we found it to be quite enjoyable. There was no real place the cooler fit, so we just had it under the passenger's feet, and that worked fine. Everyone was really friendly, and it was really easy to begin our round. The greens were a bit slow, but overall it was a great course!
This course has a good layout, but conditions fair. A few holes are tricky.
This course has a good layout with waste areas coming into play as well as dry creek beds. The course could use more housekeeping. Because of layout and value, we will return.
