Most affordable course in the area.
Forgiving course and great 19th hole. New carts and upgrades.
Somewhat improved
Having played this course many times, mostly due to ability to get on as a single and the price, I remain disappointed. The course recently purchased a new fleet of carts, but the money would have been better spent on improvements to the course. The teeboxes are still hardpan dirt and many of the greens are not in great shape. However, I noticed that most of the sand in the traps is being replaced, so perhaps they are moving in the right direction. That's the hope- the course has a lot of good potential- it just needs to be fulfilled.
Tee Boxes and Other
I have played this course a lot of times and always enjoyed the rounds until recently things are changing. There is an obvious lack of maintenance in many areas. The tee boxes are a disaster with little to no grass on many of the boxes and have to tee off on sand. The practice putting greens are so covered with twigs and pine needles that you need a broom with you to practice. Also the practice holes haven't been changed for weeks and they are all mounded up from being walked around. The driving range also lacks grass to practice on. They don't water the course until it is hard as a rock. The sand traps are never maintained and are cement. Last but not least if you get a tee time from Golf Now the course won't let you play with a member unless he pays green fees. Not good! Why would you become a member? Really a little maintenance would make this golf course great. I recommend this course but the quality of play has gone down.
Quailwood golf course
Have always loved this course but it wasn't in the greatest condition this time. The fairways were extremely dry and some of the greens in bad shape. Still like the course and will return.
sad
Had prepaid for two round at this course. Hoped 2nd time would be prepared. The man at the front desk was a total jerk. My husband had misread our tee time and he nastily told me we had to wait for our tee time even though there was no one playing. Then when we finally got to go the pace of play was horrendous. The tee boxes are dirt. The greens are miserable. We decided you get what you pay for. We would have gladly traded these two rounds for one higher priced round. Would never go back.
needs attention
The gentleman at the desk needs a personality transplant. The condition of the greens are sad. The price reflects the value. It is a very short course and has too many par threes. I normally play off the forward tees, I am a female, I chose to play off the whites with the three men I played with. It does really challenge your short game. Just did not care for it. Unfortunately had booked it twice so will return today. Maybe it will be better today, knowing ahead of time how it is.
This course is a great Value for the money.
I recommend this Course to all Bogey Golfers. It is
pretty forgiving to the Beginner and would not Bore
a more experienced Golfer.
Questionable conditions
Let me preface my remarks by saying that any golf course you can play for $12 is a good value. Having said that, and having played this course many times for the same price, I would be hard pressed to recommend it to anyone. In a previous review I stated that instead of putting a lot of money into new carts they should have improved the playing conditions. Many of the front 9 greens are in poor condition and all the tee boxes are terrible, in hardpan condition. Additionally, the guy at the pro shop desk needs a definite attitude adjustment! He's a course representative, and he should make you feel good about being there, not a bother.
Quailwood golf course
A fun course for all ages. Some holes are very easy, others a challenge for a short hitter (getting over wide ditches. Have played the course for 15 years and will keep coming back..
will never go back
This course is in rough shape.Had to move ball on 3 greens to keep from putting through damaged areas of grass. Also had leaves everywhere on greens.Tee boxes are basically uneven dirt.We have played this course several times over last couple years hoping it might improve ,but doesn't look like that is happening. We quit after nine. Owner seemed to have an issue with the cheaper fee we payed on golf now,but if he isnt making any money, he shouldn't offer the rates on golf now.As an owner he should realize consequences of unhappy customers.word gets around. The four other courses in area are in much better shape and more professionally run.
Money better spent?
I have probably played this course a dozen times in the last 4 months. The ownership recently bought a large number of new carts. Some of this money would have better spent improving the tee boxes and many of the front-nine greens. It's still an overall good value for the dollar.
A fun but interesting golf course for a great price. More par 3s than regular but also par 4s and 5s. Great for those looking for a nice round with a friendly staff and other players, a driving range, putting green, clubhouse with good food, a nice bar, multiple TVs, ... Not for the scratch golfer, but good for the rest of us. Fast play, decent, but slow, greens, nice fairways and some tough pin positions and a lot of bunkers and carries. What a gem! Try it, you'll like it, unless you want to play the big, expensive courses. My wife and I played 18 with a cart for $25... (Thanks GolfNow)
New Carts!
Play here about twice a month. New carts, much nicer experience. Course is fun, a little ragged in some places, but a good value.
Quailwood golf course
Husband and I have always enjoyed Quailwood golf course. Yesterday when we played it was in very good shape and the weather was perfect.
Quailwood Golf Course
This is a great little Country Golf Course. Some very challenging holes, a couple of par fours that you can go for off the tee. Problem is it's not well-manicured. And I don't blame ownership, they try very hard to keep the course in shape. Very easy to lose a ball if you get off the Fairway. Recently updated their golf carts with brand new gas golf carts that are a pleasure to drive. Pace of play can be very quick depending whether or not you keep your ball in the Fairway. For the price this golf course cannot be beat. Friendly courteous staff.
Fantastic time
What a find! The nicest people on the course playing and in the clubhouse. Could not believe how welcoming and enthusiastic everyone was. A absolute must for anyone wanting a fun filled day.
Great Comfortable Fun Course
If you like golf and a fun, comfortable, no stress course, then this is the place ! Really nice folks own & operate ! Large $2 draft beers. Nice new carts ! If you want a really inexpensive 18 holes this is the place. This isn't a Scottsdale course with manicured greens but then again you are only paying $20 a round with a cart included. FUN ..FUN...FUN.. and you are not going broke !
A major disappointment!
It's been over a month since I last played Quailwood, and what a difference a month makes. It appears there has been very little water put on the course- anything off the fairway was hardpan. The teeboxes haven't been mowed and they are largely hardpan, as well. The most disappointing aspect, however, were the greens. They have been plugged and sanded and are in terrible shape! There was no warning on Golfnow of this. This will likely be my last round on this course for the balance of the year.
