Haven at Haven Public Golf Club
About
Built along the Santa Cruz River, Haven Golf Course offers scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Built in 1967, it is Green Valley’s oldest golf course and the only course in the area where walking is allowed. The landscape is covered with mature pines, palms, and eucalyptus trees. There are water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play, but overall the golf course has an enjoyable, player-friendly layout. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Haven Golf G.C. facility features a nine-hole, par-3 golf course called Tortuga. There is also a complete practice facility with all-grass hitting stations that provides excellent short game practice.

Great for the money
Enjoyed the course. Grass was mostly good and greens were in good shape. Ranger was friendly but other employees were not very outgoing. For the money I think this was a very nice course. I will be back!
Course Condition
I play here often and this is the best condition the course has been in a while. Grass was mowed but lush and the placement of the pins was very challenging resulting unexpected breaks. Keep up the good work!
Typical neglected desert course. Front desk was efficient and friendly. Bar was very plain with no food and a group of local drinkers. It seemed the bartender was a bit drunk when I got my coffee.
Great walk for the effort
The course is a nice 'retiree' golf course. Even though the fee included a cart, I chose to walk because the weather was perfect for the day. Since I walked, the seat with my buddy was available. When the staff asked him to share carts with a third, my buddy stated, 'only if he doesn't smoke'. The staff argued that me buddy would then need to pay an extra $20 for solo cart. I said we both paid cart fee however I chose to walk. If need be, I would raise a stink. he finally accepted the logic, which was not necessary since the third did not smoke. A bit tense on the first tee. Other than that, the greens were slow. Index is rising.
Friendly course
I like Haven’s wide fairways, and easy terrain. Definitely a walking course, but carts are also available. Cart paths are well maintained, with bathrooms available on course. Bunkers are generally easy to hit out of. Greens are kept trim. There are some water features, but no having to hit over any. Love that they have beverage cart service. The par 3 course (Tortuga) is great to practice short game. Overall a friendly and relaxing course that beginners/intermediates can successfully play.
