About
Built along the Santa Cruz River, Haven Golf Course offers scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Built in 1967, it is Green Valley’s oldest golf course and the only course in the area where walking is allowed. The landscape is covered with mature pines, palms, and eucalyptus trees. There are water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play, but overall the golf course has an enjoyable, player-friendly layout. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Haven Golf G.C. facility features a nine-hole, par-3 golf course called Tortuga. There is also a complete practice facility with all-grass hitting stations that provides excellent short game practice.

Greens need to be verticut. They are so slow. Traps need sand.

Beware the Starters!
Pace of play was excellent on the front 9: no one waiting on the group ahead to hit a shot...and no one waiting behind us to hit a shot. It was just about perfect spacing. We were in the middle of three sets of twosomes. All was good until we hit a brick wall on the tee box on hole number 10. The twosome in front of us was on the tee box waiting on a "walking single", who had just teed off. Found out he was told to start on the back. Then another twosome showed up on Hole 10. This was not the group behind us on the front 9. They, too, had been told to start on the back as "there was a gap". There was no gap! Now, we have 4 groups on a par 4 hole number 10. Then the twosome behind us on the front 9 showed up on hole 10 tee box. 5 groups on Hole number 10 and for absolutely NO REASON other than the pro shop did not take the time to see if there was a gap to insert these players. The entire back 9, we had 3 groups on every par 4 and two groups on every par 3. We had to wait to hit on every single shot the entire back 9. The only person who did not have to wait to hit a shot was the "walking single" who ditched all of us. NO MORE GOLFING AT THIS COURSE. Starters need to be trained on golf courtesy and to show respect for the players already on the course on the front 9.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. A typical public course
Scheduled a tee time at the course based on the review of it on Teetime. Drove 45 minutes to get there anticipating that the course would be much better than those locally, but found that it wasn’t any better than the local municipal courses at about the same price. We were paired with a local Twosome that it least made the round enjoyable.

Great again
Had the first tee time again so played well under 4 hours acouple of tees still need cutting, did see the mower on the way around but behind us so they got cut later love to play here

Trim tee boxes
Fun open course. Pace of play was good on the front, but slow on the back. Tee boxes were far too overgrown. No sand in the bunkers.

Home Style Golf
Friendly, homey, easy (flat) layout. Fairways reseeded green and fairly firm, bunkers hard (avoid), greens smooth, hold nicely, and (surprisingly) have good speed and, downhill use caution. Can play slow, many groups on the grounds, so have patience. One of the best cost values in winter for Tucson area.

Nice course, good value
The course was in fine shape. The absolute best value golf in Green Valley area. Enough challenge to have you come back. One drawback, stay out of the sand, they are hard and not in good shape.
