Wickenburg Country Club
The course was excellent. A very fun and unusual course. We enjoyed and will be back to play often.
Worth the drive
Was in Scottsdale during WM and super bowl week. Golf in area very expensive and courses packed. Found this course on GN . About 60 mile drive but well worth it. Course in great shape, not very long but very challenging. Tees, fairways, and greens in great shape. I understand there is new owners and they are putting a lot of money in course. Lots of blind tee shots from back tees. A lot of target golf from tee area. Will definitely play here again when we come back to Phoenix area.
Nice Course.
A nice course to play and see some very interesting Desert Scenery.
Don't go out of your way
goofy holes, conditions average at best. If you don't live in wickenburg I wouldn't go play here
Wickenburg C.C.
Great facility, beautiful scenery and a challenging golf course. A visit to Ringo's 19th hole is a must.
Pleasant surprise
The course was a bit tight and some of the greens small. There were a few blind shots so playing the course for the first time was challenging. The greens rolled very well and were in good condition. All in all a fun course and I would definitely play it again. We even saw a few deer and the desert views were enjoyable.
New Course
This is the first time I played this course. It is very challenging if you do not keep the ball in the fairways. Par three's were very long .
Wickenberg CC
Course was in the best shape I have ever seen. Due to a wdding no food was being served (except hotdogs). We did get stuck behind 2 5 somesomes, we had a lot of wait time.
Deceptively Challenging
Don't be fooled by the slope and yardage on the scorecard. If you don't bring some game, this course will get the better of you. Fairways (which were in terrific condition but could have been mowed a little closer) are narrow and if you miss them, on a number of holes, you'll be hitting your next shot out of the desert. Greens were hard (due to frost/freeze) and rolled true. Overall course conditioning was a pleasant surprise. This course is a gem!
A couple of things to note. It's a bit of a ride out to Wickenburg, but once you get north of Bell Rd in Surprise, traffic on the highway moves along at a good pace (75-80 mph). Took us about 45 minutes from the vicinity of 101 and Bell on a Saturday morning. Also, this is not a course for walkers. Long cart rides (pay attention to the signs) between many holes winding through the desert.
All in all, a fun day. The course is a good mix of challenge, interest and fun. You have to think your way around it, and I'd recommend leaving the driver in the bag on many tee shots. Had lunch after the round - the bartender was great and the food was good. We'll definitely make Wickenburg a stop when we're back in Arizona this spring!
great value
Had a very good round with the conditions of the course outstanding. Not crowded and played quickly. Highly recommended for a fun round.
Great Golf Now Hot Deal
Great price for the course... a lot of desert to deal with if you are off the fairway, make sure you take a desert club of some sort. If it's your first time playing, good luck!!!
WCC
Always a great course with friendly and accommodating staff. Ringo's is also a great place to have very good food a beverage, with staff to match.
Great, some easy some hard!!
Wow what a fun course. Fairways and greens are
really pretty and green. Truly a desert course. Not
a house or backyard to hit if you tried. Fairways are
not real wide but plenty wide with light grass rough.
very little rock or gravel, easy on clubs. played first
two times recently and going to play it again Sun.
Pro shop help, and people they put me with really
made for great time!! Old Guy 85
HIDDEN GEM
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE PLAYED WCC AND WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. WE HAVE PLAYED LOS CABALEROS MANY TIMES AND ENJOYED THE EXPERIENCE SO WE THOUGHT TO GIVE WGC A TRY.
SO GLAD WE DID! THE LAYOUT OF THE COURSE WAS INTERESTING; LIKE BEING ON A TRAILRIDE-WITH THE WINDING DIRT CARTPATHS WITHOUT THE HORSE-A GOLFCART INSTEAD.
THE HOLES WERE LAID OUT VERY CHALLENGING FOR THE MOST PART AND MADE YOU THINK ON JUST ABOUT EVERY SHOT. MANY TRANSITIONS TO CARRY AND A HUGH WASH TO CONTEND WITH ON SEVERAL HOLES. A FEW COMMON AREAS WERE IN NEED OF MINOR CLEANUP AROUND THE CLUBHOUSE WHICH WOULD MAKE DINING ON THE PATIO A BIT MORE SCENIC.
THE STAFF IN THE PROSHOP AS WELL AS THE BAR AND RESTUARANT WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMADATING.
WE ENJOYED THE DAY OF GOLF, HAD LUNCH AND A FEW BEERS ON THE PATIO AND PLAN ON RETURNING VERY SOON.
Greeat value
The course is in very good condition. Nice greens.
Great value. Need to play target golf on many of the holes.
Pleasant Surpise
We were pleasantly surprised by the top rate facilities and regretted that our plans did not include staying for dinner. The clubhouse,, restaurant with bar and washrooms were updated, well decorated and very clean. Very friendly staff. Course was challenging but fun. Must go back.
A great day at a great course
As usual, the course was in excellent condition. Lush green fairways, true greens. Wonderful scenery and many birds merrily chirping.
Friendly staff.
It was a quiet day and it seemed that we had our own private golf course.
Have played here frequently and will come again.
Well worth the drive from Sun City.
Tight but excellent shape
Played here 4 Tuesday's in a row, each time it seems to be in better shape. Can't beat it on GolfNow for 20 buks. Andrew is the MAN, gave us tips the first time there, and always gets us out early. Not once did we play over 3 hours. Great course and staff !! Don't forget extra balls, you will lose a few.
Worth the drive!!
You definitely need a GPS for this course. There are several blind tee shots that require a closer look at the landing area. Or at the very least, drive up to the landing area and take a quick look (if possible).
