Much Improved
We have played El Rio several times over the last few years. Last year the course was in pretty bad shape but this year with the New Management, The course is looking great. 100% better than last year. I would love to see actual sand in the bunkers though. The restaurant is open and the food is great. Service is outstanding Hopefully the Restaurant keeps expanding it's hours and will be open for dinner. El Rio has so much potential and it looks like the management is heading in the right direction.
Greens, fairways, and tees in great shape. Some patchyness here and there. Nice tight lies.
Best value around
Great friendly staff, fun track, fairways and greens in great shape. All around a wonderful time.
Must play!
First time playing and loved it! Check in was simple with Woody who is incredibly friendly and accommodating. With the exception of one fairway and the bunkers the course was in great shape. It’s obvious of the hard work the club is doing to get it into the best shape possible. For the value? Unbeatable!
Desert golf
Had a great time at El Rio. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Pace of play was great. Just over 3 hours for the round. Price was great. I’ll be back.
Awesome Pace of Play!
Top notch staff and facility. Got out early, no waiting, tough beautiful course.
EXCELLENT COURSE - EL REAL
I recommend this course to all visiting golfers; very good golfers might find it easy, but recreational golfers will enjoy this course!
Excellent shape with one caveat
We live nearby and have always enjoyed this course but the quality is always back and a forth.. however currently the course is in AMAZING shape. The only caveat is the mosquitos on the course are insane, clouds of them on every square foot of the course.. my dad and I were eaten alive despite having spray..
Some potential
Was met by a man in the clubhouse who was rude dismissive. Maybe having a bad day but that’s no excuse. Course is not in good shape. Mostly dirt fairways however the greens are green and ran good. It’s clear they are the only parts of the course receiving water. Bunkers are unplayable no sand instead hard clay dirt. Despite our poor welcome we stopped for a beverage in the afternoon, the young lady serving was fantastic! Cannot recommend playing this course at this time.
Honest sorry
It was the worst shape I've seen. I will qualify, I don't like the layout. The course condition was the worst I've seen in my area.
Avoid
This course is in bad need of attention.. The fairways are like hitting off concrete, and and very hard on your clubs. This course has lot's of sand traps that are very neglected. For the value I would definitely avoid this course.
