Strong winds improve your game.
Fun to play if you like wind. It doesn’t go away. It makes you think of different ways to get down the fairway. Could be cheaper to play.
pace depends
The foursome in front of the foursome in front of us set the pace. They did not have anyone in front of them and played in 4:20. They held up the foursome in front of us, and everyone after. We could have played in 3.5 hour if there had been a ranger. slow play = disruptive rhythm=slower play.
Hidden Gem
Played El Rio in December 2020 and it was in good shape. It continues to be in good shape and a great value. Tee boxes and greens are in excellent condition. I would give the fairways a 7.5 out of 10..just because there are a handful of bare patches. I am being picky…a slight bump and you are on grass..so no big deal. The check in is super easy and the staff are excellent. Driving range is also in good shape. Dollar for dollar you will not find a better deal in the Bullhead City area.
Needs work around the greens. It really needs to be over seeded. Places in the fairway that don’t have any grass. Greens needed mowing n rolled. Not a good place to play in the strong winds like all courses in Bullhead.
Nice course
Was very windy so hardly any golfers in the course. It was in great condition. Great course to walk and get some exercise.
Need sand in the bunkers
The main reason I did not give a good review for this coarse is because it has a lot of bunkers but they are lacking sand. Plenty of rocks big enough to damage your clubs if you try to hit out of them. We ended up just throwing our balls back onto the grass. Put some real sand in them or plant some grass.
Nice course
Course was in pretty good condition (a little wet in places). Pace of play was good. Cold and windy day which increased the difficulty. Nice course, recommended.
Already reviewed
I sent an a very simple review and the course was excellent but the website keeps telling me to review I have reviewed this course and I get at least four emails a week to tell me to review this course please fix the system
Watch the wind
Course was very well played the greens were in excellent shape and we’re rolling true. If you landed in the rough it was like hitting out of concrete. The bunkers throughout the course were waste bunkers with gravel inside them. All in all it was a great course it just needs a little bit of love, for the price it was worth the money.
Nice course
Fun to play, greens are good and fairways are wide.
Great greens
We battled strong winds all day and yet the greens held so well and putted perfectly. Kudos to the greens crews. We will play the course again.
