Tanna Farms Golf Club

About
Tanna Farms Golf Club in Geneva offers some of the best golf that the Fox Valley has to offer. The layout meanders across prairies covered with wildflowers and weaves through lush wetlands. The course begins with the stunning signature hole. The par-3 opener has an island green that sets the scene for this thrilling and memorable round. Although it's a seemingly short course at 6,510 yards from the back tees, what it lacks in length it makes up for with plenty of other challenges. Besides the first hole, there are a few other tough par 3s, including one with a postage-stamp sized green. There are some daunting par 5s as well. Tanna Farms Golf Club is not a lengthy course but the layout is generously spaced to offer breathing room between the holes and the undulating slopes and subtle elevation changes make it pay much longer.

Excellent deal for a challenging, well groomed course. A few of the bunkers were pretty rough but generally was in excellent condition.
Would play again
This course has a tough layout. It was very windy which made the par 3’s play very long. Greens were very fast. Overall nice course will play again.
Nice day - Overall has issues
Refer to my reviews of 5/28/18 and 4/27/17 for a lot of info. Tanna is in decent shape given the extreme amount of rain the area has received to start the season. It's a quirky course that doesn't back to the clubhouse after the 9th with virtually nil facilities. Was told a "soft open" for the the season with only 3 cruddy domestic types of beer stocked probably left over from last season? At least they had a nurse on course but she had little to sell. Come on. Porta Potties still the norm.....a postage stamp practice putting green. Observed deteriorating course conditions over the last several years. Greens are so so at best which is unfortunate.....and I'm being kind. Traps have always been hit or miss. Tee to green is acceptable. The par 5 15th has turned into a hideous amphitheater of huge 400k plus really ugly homes surrounding the green featuring yapping dogs, cornucopia of lawn mover noise and yes kids setting off firecrackers. Owned by the same folks as nearby Mill Creek which did have decent overall facilities (range and even a par 3 course) you would have thought they'd pay more attention to Mill Creek (a better track) but they closed it this season.....observed Mill Creek at least getting mowed. It's difficult for me to recommend Tanna. A course I'd play once a year but with virtually no warm up available that's about it.....too many issues at Tanna which continue (3 stars previous - now 2.5 stars). Hope these owners wake up and improve/reopen Mill Creek. $30 value at most.
Great time in cold weather......
Picked a cold to play, only lasted nine holes.....Friendly awesome staff gave us a nine hole voucher... Course has beautifully kept fairways and greens... surprisingly hilly, well kept course with challenging bunkers and water.... definitely making this course my go to........ Great bang for the buck !!!
Stay away
Tee to green the course was chewed up. Unfriendly staff. DONT GO.
Great track
Great course Pro Shop staff seriously lackls luster...probably families of the owners are justSenior citizens who don’t care about new guests....course was in great shape!
Players track from the tips
This course plays well for all levels of golf but from the tips , can be challenging golf...great layout definitely need to ride a cart, not a walkers course... a lot of really fun holes highly recommended
Solid track
Always in great condition. Only one questionable hole. Great staff. No cart GPS, which impedes some shot selection. Big fan of Tanna Farms

We had a Hot Deal with coupon ... The course was wet and it was windy ... GREAT layout ... GREAT staff ... we will go back again and again.
Really really good.
This place was really good. The staff were AWESOME. Seriously, every person there seemed like they really cared that you had a great day. Pace of play was good even though there were a lot of people playing. Course layout was interesting, challenging but not too difficult.
Knocks are that the greens were kind of rough. Most of that is on the players, seriously people, FIX YOUR DIVOTS, and stop spitting sunflower shells on the greens. Other knock is no turn. There’s not a stop between 9 and 10, and there needs to be. Cmon, the dog and beer at the turn is a staple. That and the lack of beverages on the course need to be worked on. One cart girl isn’t enough.
All in all, I’ll be back.
If you like house lined fairways rather than tree lined, then this is the course for you. The course pretty much winds around a housing development, I found the course had a very strange setup, par 34 on the front with 4 par three's and a par 37 on the back with 3 lengthy par five's. That coupled with the very slow pace of play made it difficult to get into any kind of rhythm. On a positive note the course was in generally good condition and the staff friendly and helpful
