Tanna Farms Golf Club in Geneva offers some of the best golf that the Fox Valley has to offer. The layout meanders across prairies covered with wildflowers and weaves through lush wetlands. The course begins with the stunning signature hole. The par-3 opener has an island green that sets the scene for this thrilling and memorable round. Although it's a seemingly short course at 6,510 yards from the back tees, what it lacks in length it makes up for with plenty of other challenges. Besides the first hole, there are a few other tough par 3s, including one with a postage-stamp sized green. There are some daunting par 5s as well. Tanna Farms Golf Club is not a lengthy course but the layout is generously spaced to offer breathing room between the holes and the undulating slopes and subtle elevation changes make it pay much longer.

Playing in the middle of multiple HOAs
Given the location and the picturesque view of the farmhouse pulling in I did not expect to be playing through multiple subdivisions. The course layout immediately takes you into suburbia off the first tee box. I don’t mind houses on the golf course, but to an extent. There were only two holes that weren’t surrounded by houses. The other 16 holes have multiple signs to remind you that you are liable for any damage to personal property because one miss hit is going to turn that $60 round of golf into a much more expensive round. One hole, I think 15, is lined down both sides and behind the hole with houses. Oh and I hope you’re not looking for refreshments after the front 9 because the layout does not lead to a half way house, just more regular houses. Horrible horrible layout. But the condition of the course was above average. It’s just a shame it is where it is. We are definitely not going back.
Very friendly staff and always so helpful that one of our player was late and they offered him extra cart with no extra charge. Always treated us with great courtesy.
Bad day for golf
I called a couple hours before our 10:30 tee time because we’d had a lot of rain and I thought our tee time might slip. The pro shop person said you have a golf now tee time. You’ll go off on time. Pro shop guy was rude when I checked in and reminded me it was cart path only on the whole course. We had a group behind us not using cart path st all, but we were never informed of a change. All of us were 65-70 would have appreciated some relief. Felt punked
Fun course
Hole 12 was my favorite. The course has I think 6 par 3’s but it was very challenging . Will be back this year.
Familiar course with some unexpected distractions
Always enjoy playing Tanna and have played here many times over the years. We always try to book the first time out to play at our pace so I can get a round in and get back to the fam ASAP. For whatever reason, the grounds crew were on almost every green we were about to hit into on the back 9 riding around on tractors. For what we pay to play, I would expect that work would be completed on unoccupied parts of the course to avoid distractions.
Poor condition
Good course layout. Tough to score. Course not maintained well. Horrible green. U repaired ball marks and damages. 18th green has wheel mark acoss the hole like someone drove through the green.
Tough
Tough course. A little confusing to navigate. Challenging holes were pretty fun. Some tee boxes in rough shape. Hit a log jam of waiting up to 10 minutes to tee off.
