Huntmore Golf Club

Things I liked - Beautiful scenery. Greens were very nice and fast for public course. Layout and course conditions were good. A lot of placement shots off the tee. (Need to keep the ball in play or you'll be in for long day.) Staff very attentive and welcoming. Cheat sheet with yardage was helpful for first timer.

Things that could use improvement - trap conditions were average (at best), more signage needed that identifies the hole you're on at tee box, and where to go after leaving the green, especially when hole cart paths are crossing.

All in all - a very enjoyable experience. I think with some improvements will be even better.

I played Huntmore today for the first time in 4 years. I had the 7 am tee time with the Golf Now play fast promotion. I play as a single player, early in the morning with the intention of being first out and off the course quickly. I really appreciate when courses accommodate this and find there are many Metro Detroit courses that do. This was not my experience at Huntmore.

If you plan to play early on Monday mornings, know that they have a shotgun senior league that goes off the back 9 at 8:30. I finished 12 holes, and then they sent a ranger out to tell me that the league was going off. I could go back and play 1 again, but there were several groups already out on the front 9. Needless to say, I was not happy.

I will give the course credit, they offered me a 9 hole rain check, but I'm going to drop Huntmore from my usual morning golf rotation for the upcoming future. If you want to play early and play fast as the promotion indicates, do not choose Huntmore.

If you don't care about playing early and fast, the course is as gorgeous and well kept as always. It is a great track, which added to my disappointment about the situation I encountered today.

The greens were air aided last fall and are still air aided in late May it's the only course out of 20 I've played this year

Worth the trip. Looking forward to replaying in nicer weather and later in the season.

This course over the last 5 years has become one of my favorites. While it is somewhat a wet course, the watering keeps everything, including the rough playable. Greens are always in excellent shape and fast.
Like that they put sensors near the greens this year to keep us all from parking/driving cart too close to greens. Has improved the area around the greens to make chipping easier.

Very nice updates to the course. Very nice food and cart person. Very friendly and professional. Golf pro and other staff member were so so. Didn't acknowledge us when we waited to pay or when we walked in. Didn't feel like a paying customer. If it wasn't for the course I never go back.

Played on a Golf Now red flag deal and thoroughly enjoyed the round. We were the pace setters and as such completed the round in 3:30.

Fairways were green nicely cut and plush, while the greens were cut tight, ran well and true. A bit quicker would be the only complaint, but I like fast green.

First of all, the recent updates to not only the clubhouse but the course have been incredible. The owners care about the presentation of the course, practice facilities, and staff.

Golf Course: The course has an excellent scenic layout throughout a developing neighborhood. The course gives an up north feeling as you wind through the woods to your next hole. I would pay double the money to play on THESE PERFECT GREENS. Fast and firm, yet hold when they should, and role true. Fairways, roughs, and tee boxes are all mowed and look great.

Pace of Play: With the addition to the rangers, all of the carts have GPS on them which was great! The cart gives you a yardage to the front, middle, and back of the green. The GPS also allows the clubhouse to monitor and keep better track of pace of play. We played on a weekend morning at 4 hours and 34 minutes.

All in all, I would highly recommend playing here. The course is challenging but rewards a golf shot.

Couse was in good shape. Greens fast. I don't care for all the layup holes. 6 iron then wedge type of shot or you can't hit a driver on this par 4. Probably hit my driver 6 times hit in the sand it is different sand from hole to hole. Not knocking the course, it is a challenge, just not for me.

Great course , Greens are some of the best in Michigan, Fast, smooth bent grass nice bunkers, but course can play really tough for high handicappers.

Other than poor timing for course maintenance,
watering fairways and mowing at 1:30, we enjoyed our round.

I found the course to be very nice, and hope to play there again soon. Arrived a little early, and they were more than happy to let me out right away. Pleasant, courteous staff in the pro shop. Fairways are mowed nicely. Greens run true.

If it's your first time out, as was mine, try to get with someone who has played there before. I paired up with someone who was very helpful.

I was a little apprehensive about trying Huntmore after reading some of the recent reviews, but my experience was very enjoyable. Best $18.00 I've spent in a long time. Thanks GN

Tough course that reminds us of why were amateurs. The course played a little long because of swirling winds and late night rain the night before. Greens were perfect though. The ball bit well and rolled pretty true.
This course eats my shorts every time, but that's why I come back. I will get my revenge some day.
