16th hole Photo submitted by nlwadhwani on 06/02/2014
the greens were in good shape
Most of course is fine about four holes are pretty unreasonable
They dont fit rest of course
A course well worth the time & money.
This course was in fairly good condition for being in the middle of the dry season. The course of play was great - no waiting. A few holes can be tough for the average golfer like myself when it is a little windy. There is a long drive between several holes but still nice. The drink cart lady was friendly & informative of the days event.
Super slow play : no ranger
Teed off around 1:00. No major back-up at 1st tee. Took us 3 hours and 20 minutes to play 11 holes. We called clubhouse...couldn't or wouldn't do anything. Said they didn't have a ranger on duty that late???!!!! We left after playing 12 holes...no one could stay, or wanted to play, a 5 1/2 hour + round. Should be refunded our money.
Great value with Golfnow!
Challenging, with a nice pace of play. Very woman friendly with the red tees!
course and greens
The course has hazards like many others but well maintained. The greens and slopes are perfect. ecxellent spped on the greens and not slow. watch out for some holes on the green they might look like left to right but when they head to the cup theres a slight curve. you wont find bumps and weeds and hole possition is excellent . I am amature but love playing here for a great challange.
Challenging but fun to play!
We followed a multi-college golf tournament and decided to play blue tees (6000 yds). Pin placement was set for competition golf and not recreational golfers like us. Recommend playing from shorter tees and it will be better for your score card! Course was in great shape and is a beautiful setting.
ho hmm
It's an "ok" course. Not a big fan of the greens as they were bumpy and very rough due to other golfers not repairing their ball marks.
Better than last time I played there.
Course was dry from drought, but good considering that .I play this course about once a year because it is somewhat unforgiving for a 20 handicapper like me. Generally, a blue collar course away from mainstream civilization. OK for something differnet but not one of my favorites along the Space Coast. The modifications on the back 9 continue to be a detracton for this track, but there are several good holes.
great course good value
i love to play this course. good value for the quality of course
Nice public course
5 sets of tee boxes to choose from. Wish the carts had GPS systems - that would speed up play. Greens rolled true - fairways were cut very short. Would play it again.
Too expensive for value received. Other courses in the area better at less money.
What irked me the most was long fairways that you had to reach hitting across than full length like most courses. Arnold must have been particularly angry at golfers when he participated in this design.
No one at the bag drop area to help prior to playing and after playing.
Consequently, no tips.
My wife and I will probably never play this course again.
Fun course to play
I liked the course and have played it several times. The negative was they had booked 6 minute tee times and pace was slow and crowded. Greens rolled well.
Nearly a five hour ride in the desert.
The layout was challenging and required good decision making and even better execution. The course was extremely dry causing many shots hit in the center of mounded fairways to eventually roll left or right into a pond and one of the many bunkers.Greenside fringe non-existent. Rough or 2nd cut non-existent. Best to putt even if 30 feet off the green as you can not get a club on the ball cleanly off hardpan. Greens very dry and kicked up dust when the ball bounced. Cup area severely spiked most likely due to pin not being moved frequently. No rakes at bunkers but rather carried on the cart which is a hassle. Pro shop explained that last year rainfall was 10 inches below normal and this year is already 1 inch below normal. Course reportedly has irrigation but they are reluctant to use the "dirty Florida water.
Played on a rain threating day course not crowded
Course can be quite challeging depending tee used and knowledge of course. A player should score better on on subsequent time playing.
Very challenging if you're having an off day.
Staff was very friendly. Reserved time under the PDP rate not knowing what that was. Pro shop cashier did a great job with my situation.
Play was very, very slow. Recommend ranger to push players thru 4 pm. Not a place for novice players. Very little courtesy from 3 foursomes ahead. Zigzaging carts across fairways.
A good challenge for all golfers
Variety of tees allows you to play at proper level. Too bad more people don't know their limitations. Greens fast and fair.
Very nice trek.
Very Nice course cut into the terrain and very pleasing to the eye.
This course is a nice course to Play it can play real tough if it is windy.
We found the course in average condition the fairways were very short almost as short as the greens and the sand traps were raked but the sand was very hard the balls would hit and run right
through the sand like it was not even there.
Concrete fairways
I played this course many times over the years, and the reason I haven't played in the past few years is because the course condition is always rock hard. Almost every fairway is like hitting off concrete, impossible to get a club underneath the ball, resulting in poor shots after great tee shots. Too bad because the staff is great, clubhouse great, food great, but I can get all of that at a restaurant. I go there to play golf, and it's the poor fairways that need serious re-work with actual grass that grows. In the several years I"ve been living here, this course has not changed it's quality. I play at municipal courses that are cheaper and in much nicer condition.
A tough golf course at a bargain price.
I play at The Majors quite often. There is a nice mix of yardage on par 4's. There are a few holes that require perfect shot placement to allow a par or better. The 12th green is shaped like Stone Mountain, ... , if you hit the middle of the green "hot" your ball is in the pond behind it. The clubhouse is very nice, with good food and clean conditions. The practice facilities are ample, two putting greens, large driving range, a pitching green with deep practice bunkers and a set or practice holes that skirt the edges of the driving range.
