About

Rating 72.7

Parlaying the successes of the Dallas-area Tour 18, Houston's version of America's greatest holes has become one of Harris County's most popular golf destinations. This one takes advantage of the Southeast Texas pines, with towering trees lining every hole, and the impressive conditions that have made both Tour 18s popular with the public.

Two holes stand out on the front side, and they're not the replicas of Augusta's Amen Corner (5-7 on this track). No. 1 is perhaps the most difficult on the course, intimidating off the tee because it is surrounded by wetlands. You'll need a solid drive to start well on this narrow, 440-yard hole. Bay Hill, La Costa, Inverness, and Pinehurst are also modeled, but the other great hole on the front is No. 9, a version of TPC Sawgrass's island hole.

Texas' own Colonial's third hole makes a showing on No. 12, and you'll get to see what Pebble Beach might feel like on No. 13. And those who've played the Dallas track know that the crew can sometimes get diabolical with their stimp-meter readings and pin placements, which is similar to what happens on No. 15-a replica of Shinnecock Hills' 8th hole. The green on this one slopes so heavily toward the front that a three-jack is almost certain.

Doral rears its head on No. 18, the perfect finishing hole for this track. Play the approach to the right side of the green, away from the water left, just like the pros do when they're protecting that precious lead.

Getting there : From US 59 north, turn right on FM 1960 and drive east for about 2 miles to the course entrance.

First time

First time playing the course and loved the layout very challenging but all in all a great day. Only down side was the two 3 balls that joined up and played as a 6 ball after the first hole held up the pace of play through the first 7 holes

Tour 18 still Fun after all these years

You start out on the range with Top Tracker which is awesome. The conditions were really good for early February gold in Houston. Greens held well and rolled better.

Pace was slow until we went a round a slow 4 some who obviously had a high stake game going. Every shoot took a lot of pre shot planning like they were your pros but they were not good!!!!

T18 doesn’t send Marshall’s out so you are left with “golfer etiquette” to run things. They finally let us pass on 10. We flew through the back nine after almost 3 hours on the front.

Go play it. You will love it!

Wet Day, Course Held Up!

I have played this course a handful of times. The morning rate is a little steep but the afternoon one lets you play a very nice course for a good price!

It was a wet day, cart path only but the greens rolled true and the course was still getting roll on the fairways (multiple days of rain in a row)

Would come back on a wet day, definitely would on a dry day too! Fun to play amen corner.

Staff and clubhouse are always nice, pace of play tends to be pretty good, sub 4 hr.

Winter Round

For as cold as it was the course is in great shape. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Well worth the few extra bucks to play, but maybe that’s because I parred “Anen Corner “

Worst golf experience I’ve ever had

This place is an absolute goat ranch and it’s way overpriced. We came for a bachelor party and it was probably the worst course conditions I’ve ever seen in 10 years of playing golf. The GM Jeremy was so condescending and disrespectful for no reason. He needs help. Can’t express enough how bad this place is

Great course

Good day of golf. Course was still wet from recent rains and was cart path only. but was still very nice to play. Heavy fog made it a bit more challenging for the first 4 holes but it cleared up quick. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We were visiting from out of town but will play again when we come back.

Slow play, very overpriced

Round took 5:10, never saw a Marshall on the course monitoring pace of play. Course is fun but not worth the price and pace of play was the cherry on top
