My annual golf ego check
The course is in excellent condition, but some of the fairways still showed the affects of recent hard rain. Greens were a bit slow, but in great condition. The staff was really nice and accommodating. Don't expect to play to your handicap on this course- it's tough!
Great course only short drive from Huntsville
First time playing course. Course in good condition for winter. Cart paths in great shape. Fantastic view of the lake from many holes. Greens in good condition. Not a bad drive from Huntsville. Will play here again.
Great golf experience
Course in very good shape, some greens are a little inconsistent due to time of year. Pace of play was good throughout the day, overall had a great time and will be going back soon.
Stephen Worthy in Pro shop is a class act and he contributes to overall success of Gunters Landing.
Golf
Great layout. Nice visuals & sight lines throughout the course. Will play again.
Great Golf Course
This is been one of the toughest courses I've played. It's almost intimidating but a lot of fun to play. The View off the tee boxes are great. I'm looking forward to the next time going out to find some of those balls are lost.
Beautiful but tough
I always enjoy arriving at this course and looking at its beautiful surroundings. The views of the lake and mountains can be breath taking. Then you step up to the first tee and you better get your mind on business. Those beautiful views now become hazardous. After the round, I think "I love to hate this course!" And alhough I have been conquered by this beautiful course again, I will return.
Wonderful February at Gunter's Landing
Gunter's Landing is an out of the way course with a beautiful backdrop. It's not crowded (even on Sunday), the staff is friendly, the course is playable with a few challenges (esp. hole 10). The price is great.
A must play!
Top 5 course in the area. Challenging and yet fun. Beautiful scenery and unique layout.
A must play!
Great views and beautiful course
Lots of elevation changes! Quite a few holes where missing the green means a lost ball, including a couple with posted signs saying please do not go get. By the way bring plenty of those balls for this course, literally and figuratively. And be sure to grab some drinks at clubhouse cause although there are few outposts on course not all had water coolers. Other than that the course is pretty impeccable with course setup and maintenance along with the picturesque nature. Absolutely love this course for the value and would play again anytime although it tends to be pretty busy but place of play is quite fast. Quite possibly my favorite course that I have played in North Alabama!
Course has dramatic features
Gunter's Landing is an extremely exciting golf course. Hope you don't fear heights. Some tees will take your breath away. Take a few moments on the course's heights to look at the magnificent beauty of the surroundings - the mountains, cliffs touching the sky and river. Gorgeous. Concentration on golf shot is essential though. A false swing from a particularly high-in-the-sky tee position and you're out a golf ball and at least two shots. Keep your head, make your swing and the course is rewarding to scoring.
Hidden treasure
Great golf course. Excellent value. Love the smooth, fast greens. Course rewards good play and you get punished if your shots stray.
Great course
I play this course often and it is always in top notch shape
Very scenic and challenging Layout
Read about this course on Golf Advisor and had to check it out. Booked the tee time through Golfnow.com and what a bargain it was. Back home this track would cost you $75-$100 easy to play it. Course was in great shape for the heat and the greens were perfect. The Driving Range is awesome and the views from the Tee Box were 2nd to none. If you dont like forced carry then you might want to rethink this round. This will be a regular stop when I visit the south.
WOW WOW WOW!!!
Did not know what to expect, but the previous reviews had me excited. All I can say is wow! Amazing layout with great views and challenging shots. Played the course twice back to back, and both times it was perfect. Pin placements were challenging and the greens rolled true. Proud to walk away with 79 & 73. This course has a great value way beyond the price to play. Simply awesome! Thanks to the staff and golfnow.com.
Awesome course!
Golfnow.com made it possible for me to play this course. It is by far one of the nicest courses in the state of Alabama. Using golfnow.com is very user friendly and makes playing nice courses affordable. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes get a 5 star rating from me. Keep up the good work gunter landing staff!
Golf Gem In North Alabama
I really enjoyed my round at Gunter's Landing. The course was in great shape, both the greens and the fairways. The course offers an interesting challenge of holes none to easy and none to hard. The one exception may be number 8 where there are two water carries required. The staff went over board to make me feel welcome and I will definitely play again when I am in Guntersville.
