Very scenic and challenging Layout
Read about this course on Golf Advisor and had to check it out. Booked the tee time through Golfnow.com and what a bargain it was. Back home this track would cost you $75-$100 easy to play it. Course was in great shape for the heat and the greens were perfect. The Driving Range is awesome and the views from the Tee Box were 2nd to none. If you dont like forced carry then you might want to rethink this round. This will be a regular stop when I visit the south.
WOW WOW WOW!!!
Did not know what to expect, but the previous reviews had me excited. All I can say is wow! Amazing layout with great views and challenging shots. Played the course twice back to back, and both times it was perfect. Pin placements were challenging and the greens rolled true. Proud to walk away with 79 & 73. This course has a great value way beyond the price to play. Simply awesome! Thanks to the staff and golfnow.com.
Awesome course!
Golfnow.com made it possible for me to play this course. It is by far one of the nicest courses in the state of Alabama. Using golfnow.com is very user friendly and makes playing nice courses affordable. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes get a 5 star rating from me. Keep up the good work gunter landing staff!
Golf Gem In North Alabama
I really enjoyed my round at Gunter's Landing. The course was in great shape, both the greens and the fairways. The course offers an interesting challenge of holes none to easy and none to hard. The one exception may be number 8 where there are two water carries required. The staff went over board to make me feel welcome and I will definitely play again when I am in Guntersville.
review
worth the drive. awesome course
great golf
I fount this golf course extremely challenging the course has many hazards and many rolling greens with specially placed sand traps. The greens were very fast . The course was beautifull.
The Hardest Short Course You'll ever Play
Gunters Landing is a unique course that challenges golfers on most every hole. The greens are always in great shape, yet offer many opportunities for your average golfer to 3-putt. Even I have made some birdies, so it's not impossible.
When you first look at the card and yardage you would think to play the blue tee. First time out we were told it would be the hardest short course, and it has not proved otherwise. Continue to play here often and make your best score. I have shot as low as 86, and as high as 104. Typical amature golfer I would guess.
Great value, excellent design
Drove an hour to get here. Well worth the trip. Beautiful course that is very challenging. Overall the course was in good shape, greens were nice. Well manicured course.
Great course
Great course and friendly staff
Course is always in perfect conditions and the greens are the best in the area
Great Course
This is an awesome course. It has extreme elevations and incredible views. Very forgiving off the tee because balls tend to bounce and roll to the fairway. Challenge is the putting if you are not use to putting in the mountains. The course was in excellent shape and the people very friendly. I always want to support courses that offer Jr. rates- my son said it was his favorite and being from Hilton Head he has played some great ones.
Scenic, fun golf
Gunter's Landing is in excellent condition and is simply picturesque in the fall colors. The greens were fairly quick so approach shots need to be below the hole.
Dramatic Course
Great views of the lake. Very good course, maybe the best in Alabama, north of Birmingham.
Staff was very friendly, as was everyone else I came across on the course.
Fun day
The course was in great shape. It can be a very difficult course if you don't hit it straight. I would not recommend the course for beginners.
Beautiful views, rolling hills, fast greens.
The weather was excellent, course was in great shape, lots of challenging shots. Greens were fast and needed study prior to putting. The views of the lake and beautiful homes made it a great day of golf. One warning is to drive the golf cart slowly, many steep hills. I would recommend this course to any serious golfer.
Wow!
Played this course for the first time. It was in very good condition. Greens were fast! Beautiful views from almost every hole. We thought this was a fun course to play, but it was really physically taxing. Lots of hills! Lots of climbing if you don't keep the ball in the fairway. Greens were very undulating.
very fast, large, greens
wonderful course to play, with beautiful views of the mountains and lake
Course in great condition
Had rained a lot and my group took advantage of a last min hot deal. Pro shop folks are always very nice and the course is in excellent condition very challenging course and the greens will make you work for a 2 putt
Amazing course.
Would recommend to everyone. Great course. Makes you think about your next shot. Greens are fabulous. Beautiful setting. Loved it!!!!
Great Course/Great Value
Gunter's Landing is a beautiful course and Golf Now made it an excellent value. Will definitely go back. #8 was almost unfair, can't hit driver off the tee unless you're Rory-like, but this small criticism shouldn't deter anyone from enjoying this trek. Military friendly too which is a plus.
beautiful course
it's a beautiful Course it also has hills water it's not one I would recommend for a first time golfer be prepared to lose a few balls but if you can play it multiple times it would be a great Course to play and fun. the first time that I played it I liked it and will play it again in future
