Oak Harbor Golf Club
About
Situated just 25 minutes outside of New Orleans, Oak Harbor Golf Club is one of the area's most popular courses. The course is a challenging test without being too intimidating for beginners. It offers risk-reward holes that will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. Lee Schmidt, who worked closely with Pete Dye, designed the golf course, and incorporated many of Dye's signature features into the design. Sculpted mounding and native grasses frame the generous landing areas and you'll even find Dye's trademark railroad ties framing the greens. There are also several lakes that come into play throughout. Oak Harbor Golf Club's seventh and 15th holes are particularly notable for their intimidating tee shots over water. If you strategize carefully, the four par 5s provide some birdie opportunities but you'll have to carefully navigate through a combination of water, traps, and undulations.

Driving range is horrible. Fairways are bad but greens are descent
Great day out
Greens are in perfect shape and fast. Fairways (when I did hit one in the middle) was also in great shape. Some tight fairways. Water hazards. Sand traps are a little hard but still playable.
Hard faurways
The greens were great, but the fairways were dry and
hard, with not much grass.
If they ever get the fairways together, this would be a great course to play.
It is what it is
This course is a long way from ideal. But it is also priced fairly. The greens were the only things that were solid on the course. It was very dry and baked out. Not much grass in the fairways

Can’t walk the course?? Never heard of “ Golf” not being able to walk. Didn’t have enough “ Golf carts” at a “ golf course” to let your wife ride along with you so had to stay home.
Anyone on the course driving a cart with drinks or snacks? Nope.
Go to the bar to get a drink? Nope. Not restocked yet.
Can you bring your golf cart to your car and load or unload your clubs like everywhere else in America? Nope.
Get better if you are going to charge $55 for that.
Average at best.
Nice layout
The course layout is good, lots of water on front. The fairways are need of work and water. Greens in decent condition.
Greens were in good condition. Some tee box’s were bad and most were average. Course is in good condition overall. Driving range grass has improved also.
Greens are great, That’s it!
With the exception of the greens which are great, the rest of the course is in bad shape. The tee braces are lumpy and bare, the fairways are filled with sinkholes, and the cart paths are in terrible condition. This course should be in much better shape if they want to charge $45-$65. No beverage cart and only a restroom at the turn. I have given this course several tries and I don’t plan on returning unless cast improvements are made.
No Sand on Carts
Not so goods: Tee boxes and fairways are rough mainly because of divots. There’s no sand bottles on carts and no sand boxes on tees thus the fairways and tees are getting eaten up with divots. Some tee boxes are very sandy making footing loose and slippery. Part of a course difficulty shouldn’t be getting off the tee. There’s no cart service of any kind so bring your own fluids. There’s no on course Marshals space of play gets very bogged down and slow. The toilets / restrooms are unclean.
Goods: staff is friendly, the practice area has a very nice large practice putting area. The driving range is large enough for 30+ golfers. The chipping area is okay a little on the small side, the sand practice area is small and needs maintenance.
The greens are nice and for the most part roll true.
Course layout is very adaptable to multiple skill and handicap levels. Pick your tee boxes to make the course as difficult as you desire. Mix them up to challenge your self with forced carries.
Great for the Price
Long, challenging course with good greens and fair to sometimes poor fairways. Staff is friendly and the price can’t be beat.
Good course but needs signs
It’s a beautiful course, the staff are all super nice. There are several parts of the course that don’t have any signs directing you towards the correct hole. It’s a little easy to get lost but worth the effort once you find your way.
Great Greens!
Good course, long and challenging, with lots of water. Fairways need some love, mostly just some fill, but the greens were excellent. Exceptional value.
Grass
Fairways could use some maintenance however the greens are great.
Terrible conditions (except for the greens)
I get that it’s winter, but the conditions are genuinely atrocious.
I’ll start with the positive: the greens. That’s it. That’s the list of positives. They’re in good shape and always have been.
However, virtually everything else is terrible.
The drainage at this course is awful. Standing water all over the fairways, bunkers, etc.
Half the course feels like it’s “ground under repair” with flags and stakes all over the place. If my drive was in the fairway, everytime I had to either move it out of an under repair area, mud slosh, or weeds.
Bunkers are awful. Once again, zero drainage.
Tee boxes genuinely couldn’t be any worse, especially from the white tees. Nothing but dirt.
Idk, I don’t wanna be too harsh, but I paid 43 bucks and I wouldn’t have paid $20 had I known the conditions.
Not sure if other people are just generous or never play good courses, but this course was terrible.
100% do not go for $60, maybe a twilight round for cheap idk.
