Oak Harbor Golf Club

About
Situated just 25 minutes outside of New Orleans, Oak Harbor Golf Club is one of the area's most popular courses. The course is a challenging test without being too intimidating for beginners. It offers risk-reward holes that will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. Lee Schmidt, who worked closely with Pete Dye, designed the golf course, and incorporated many of Dye's signature features into the design. Sculpted mounding and native grasses frame the generous landing areas and you'll even find Dye's trademark railroad ties framing the greens. There are also several lakes that come into play throughout. Oak Harbor Golf Club's seventh and 15th holes are particularly notable for their intimidating tee shots over water. If you strategize carefully, the four par 5s provide some birdie opportunities but you'll have to carefully navigate through a combination of water, traps, and undulations.

Booked on Golf Now
The course was in very good shape. The bunker's were under repair but this will improve the course. The course was very dry but there has not been much rain in our area for some time but despite this the greens were in excellent condition and rolled well. Course is built around lake and some holes are very windy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Driving range was ok needs better yardage makers. putting green was in great shape. The golf carts need and update but are adequate just old. I would definitely play again at this price point was well worth it/

Bunkers are going to be so much better after they are finished
Course Improvement Recommendations
New carts are needed. Course Geo-fencing needed badly, to protect greens and from creating make shift paths. Fairways are ok, but several potholes need to be filled in properly, rough areas need weed treatment. Club house needs power washing and painting, and restaurant needs painting and carpet replacement.
Good for the money
Overall nice course. Tee boxes need some work. Greens were nice and the pace of play was good.
Course improving
It's been a while since I played but Oak Harbor but the course has definitely improved. The greens were well maintained. The fairways were inconsistent and some could be better but I like how they are progressing.
Carts are falling a part and sinkholes dominate the fairways. Greens are great, however.
Home course
I play here minimum of once per week. The bunkers have been in disrepair for some time but they have just been rebuilt and sodded. With continued investment, this will be a beautiful facility.
Greens are in good shape and fairways are greening up. The carts need to be replaced.
Overall I enjoy the course and will continue to play there frequently.
Good day bad conditions.
The course can and probably will be a 4 at some point, but not now. Good layout but they are doing a lot of work on different areas of the course.
Course in bad shape !
Oak Harbor - nice layout but course in bad shape for the money I paid to play the golf course . Golf course in really bad shape - guess they are working on it , but should have charged that much to play a round of golf . Fairways in really bad shape ! Overall bad experience - will not go back ! Guess the course has meet its hay day !
Always was one of the better courses in the area.
All we hope for is a golf course's maintenance crew is trying. Oak Harbor is a great course. Played lighting fast due to no rain. The greens were in great shape. It is hard to comprehend how much money they are putting into improvement s. Didn't we just have two years of Covid?
Greens slow. Lot of hard pan.
Very slow greens, though relatively smooth.
Nothing but hard pan all around greens to chip/pitch from.
Course layout was decent.
No maintenance
Tee boxes are awful. No grass in fairways. Greens rolled good aside from the pitch marks that’s the old members won’t fix. Range is closed most of the time and it’s hard to find grass anywhere.
