With fairways that wind through groves of hardwoods and pines, around ponds and alongside acres of wetlands, the Oaks Golf Club provides one of the most unforgettable golfing experiences on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The Oaks Golf Club has challenged some of the top players in the country as a former host of Nike Tour/Buy.com events (now the PGA Tour's Nationwide Series) in 1999 and 2000 and having played host to the first stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School in 2003.

Will play again!

Hands down some of the friendliest course staff I’ve encountered. From the starter to the food/bar staff. Layout was no it greens still dormant with a few bare spots. Bunker sand was perfect. Great value.

Range needs work

Course is in great shape. Range needs a break and ability to grow. Would love to see a better chipping area and I’d consider practicing there

Unfortunate

The course itself was nice. There wasn’t much help getting set to play. I played as a single and was supposedly paired with another group. The other group was not made aware or there was actually no other group. I had to catch up to an already started group that on the 6th hole decided I should play with a couple up ahead. Switching from one group to the next was pretty disruptive to play and things just went downhill from there. Poor organization.

Excellent everything except pace of play

Super nice people, excellent course, fantastic pro shop and practice facility. If slower pace doesn’t mess with your game then absolutely play this course. It doesn’t bother me too much, so I enjoyed it. My wife on the other hand was a different story. She has been spoiled by our home course lol.

Horrible pace of play

Had a group of 8, and 2 groups of 6 in front of my group of 3.

It took two hours to play 5 holes. Skipped the rest of the front and still didn’t have time to finish the back. Great course, awesome greens, club house sub-par at best, but the pace of play ruined the whole course for me. I don’t understand how you have a starter with groups of 8 and 6 on the course and no one doing anything about it. Would hate to see this course play on a nice day in the summer.

Pace of play was terrible

In front of our group of 3, was a gourd if 2 pretty normal . In front of them was a group of 8, in front of that a group of 6, and then to top it off one more group of 6 in front of them. It was absolutely ridiculous took 2 hours to play 6 holes. Had to skip 3 holes on the front to get in front of big groups, then didn’t get to finish the back 9 because of how long the first 5 holes took. Beautiful course great greens but awful pace of play I would hate to see the course on a weekend in the summer.

A must play course!

This course was fun and challenging. The staff was very professional and helpful. The greens where in great condition. A great course to play if you're ever in the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Right around the edges.

I played this course on a windy blustery day. The greens were in very good shape although the course itself was a little rough around the edges if you ventured off the fairway you were liable to find a lot of bare spots.

The pace of play was very good , was not a lot of traffic I expect that was due to the weather. I would recommend this golf course but I wish they would include on the scorecard a layout. There were several hidden hazards that would have been nice to know about.

Nice Course

First time to play this course and it was a great experience. The course was in great shape. Very challenging layout but playable for an average golfer. No waiting at all and no pressure from behind on our foursome. Our threesome was paired with a local player and he helped us with his knowledge of the course. Can’t wait to come back and play again.

Very nice!

Enjoyed this course. Frankly if It were closer to Slidell, LA. I would join!

Practice facilities were superb. Clubhouse Staff, F&B, Merchandise, and Customer Service were all on point.

Course conditions were really good, fairways were dry (very hot day) so the ball rolled off quite a bit. If it’s your first time playing this course, I wouldn’t recommend playing by yourself considering there’s several blind shots — when you hit it long it can be problematic, but rewarding if you get it right.

My favorite of all, even tee boxes (which is a pet peeve of mine), clean without excessive divots and turf patches. Fairways were wide and inviting, lots of room to play around. Greens had a little sand left from aeration, but rolled true for the most part.

Course maintenance was constant, but not intrusive. Ground were impeccable, it was a beautiful day, I mean no complaints at all. Great job boys!

Overall, from beginning to end, a lot of fun out there at The Oak Golf Club — will definitely be back!

Pleasantly Surprised

In the area visiting family and friends and it was a recommendation of a friend that loves the game. First nice thing I saw was a large practice area. Then during the round, a really nice cart person that we saw 3 times. I will definitely play there next time I am in the south.
