The Oaks Golf Club
About
With fairways that wind through groves of hardwoods and pines, around ponds and alongside acres of wetlands, the Oaks Golf Club provides one of the most unforgettable golfing experiences on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The striking par-72 layout is highlighted by strategic bunkering, dramatic green complexes and a meandering routing and creates a serene and tranquil golf experience. Designed by Dr. Gil Morgan, the 18-hole public golf course that opened in 1998 measures 6,885 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 131 and a 72.5 USGA rating.
Throughout its history, the Oaks has received numerous awards and accolades, including being honored by Golf Digest as one of the Top Ten Courses in Mississippi, voted as the Best Course on the Coast by readers of Coast Magazine and selected as the 2003 "Golf Course of the Year for the Mississippi Gulf Coast " by the National Golf Course Owners Association.
The Oaks Golf Club has challenged some of the top players in the country as a former host of Nike Tour/Buy.com events (now the PGA Tour's Nationwide Series) in 1999 and 2000 and having played host to the first stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School in 2003.

Nice Course
First time to play this course and it was a great experience. The course was in great shape. Very challenging layout but playable for an average golfer. No waiting at all and no pressure from behind on our foursome. Our threesome was paired with a local player and he helped us with his knowledge of the course. Can’t wait to come back and play again.
Very nice!
Enjoyed this course. Frankly if It were closer to Slidell, LA. I would join!
Practice facilities were superb. Clubhouse Staff, F&B, Merchandise, and Customer Service were all on point.
Course conditions were really good, fairways were dry (very hot day) so the ball rolled off quite a bit. If it’s your first time playing this course, I wouldn’t recommend playing by yourself considering there’s several blind shots — when you hit it long it can be problematic, but rewarding if you get it right.
My favorite of all, even tee boxes (which is a pet peeve of mine), clean without excessive divots and turf patches. Fairways were wide and inviting, lots of room to play around. Greens had a little sand left from aeration, but rolled true for the most part.
Course maintenance was constant, but not intrusive. Ground were impeccable, it was a beautiful day, I mean no complaints at all. Great job boys!
Overall, from beginning to end, a lot of fun out there at The Oak Golf Club — will definitely be back!
Pleasantly Surprised
In the area visiting family and friends and it was a recommendation of a friend that loves the game. First nice thing I saw was a large practice area. Then during the round, a really nice cart person that we saw 3 times. I will definitely play there next time I am in the south.
Poor Management
Course was severely overbooked. Had to wait until 5 min past our tee time to get our carts. Of course our tee time was taken by another group. The course was generous enough to refund our fees but golf was NOT played today. Way too many great golf courses in the area to waste a day at this place.
Course is great shape.
Played an early morning round. Enjoyed everything.
Too many people.
There must have been 8 people waiting at any hole during our trip. I almost got hit by a ball Twix in the first nine holes.
Good course
The course is nice but we weren’t aware of how wet the course actually was. The fairways were sloppy the greens were in decent shape played steady. It was my first round here. But next time I’ll check if it’s cart path only I won’t play. Other than that it’s a good course for the money.
The Oaks too wet to play and enjoy
Course is nice would like to play again when it was so wet and grass was cut
Overpriced !
Not worth the money! First time playing the course and it was a big let down after reading other reviews. The person that checked us in did nothing but take our money. Never told us where to go hit range balls, where to go get carts or even where the first tee was! The course was average at best. Lots of places with no grass at all and what few yardage markers there were, had dirt and mud covering them. You can get A LOT better course and golf experience for less money!
Great value and great golf course
An excellent place to play. Buy the $99 card if you plan on playing more than once. Clubhouse staff is fantastic and very helpful. Grounds crew is also very helpful and friendly. I have been playing this course for 3 years now. Becoming a favorite place to play. Always a good day.
Although it was cloudy
The course was in Fabulous shape. I talked to Russ Bloom the partner and pro and he was delightful. There is no better deal that I know of than the Oaks card.
Great Course
Upon arriving it’s a gorgeous view coupled with a nice cozy clubhouse. The staff was very friendly and helped with anything they asked. For being December 2 I expected the course to be in less than ideal conditions.I was wrong. The tee boxes and greens were absolutely phenomenal. We got there and use the range and putting green and still enough time to get off before the event. The pace of play was outstanding. I would recommend this course to my friends who are relatively experienced because it is tight and challenging. I loved every hole they had to offer.
Yikes!!
Was traveling through Biloxi on my Honeymoon. We decided it was worth a stop on our way to Jack Nicklaus’ course in New Orleans based on reviews. It’s a great layout, but the price for the value is off. The bunkers and greens are on par with a municipal course. Parts of the cart path disappear into construction zones with zero signage. Construction workers laying on cart paths Could luckily point you in the right direction. Last but not least, the man that lives on 16 will absolutely cuss you out if you go OB into his yard. He obviously gets bombarded all day, his house is 10 feet from the fairway. Anyways.. if you’re in Biloxi or traveling through, just keep going straight. (The guy on 16 will appreciate it)
Do Not judge this course until you have personally played there.
I read a May review and convinced myself it was a terrible place, nothing could be farther from the truth.
While staying in Biloxi I FORCED myself to make the drive and to see for myself how bad it could be. It is a GREAT layout in excellent condition and the greens are emaculate. There is nothing to say even remotely bad about this course.
Plenty of tee boxes for all skill levels and a challenge from all. Greens are beautiful and have some real undulations on some of them. Front side is in a subdivision feel but not intrusive. The backside is in the boonies, do not try to walk.
I learned something about Golf Advisor, that all serious golfers need to get think about doing. I nearly missed this gem because I accepted the May review as current condition. If we serious golfers would post more frequently and be objective it will help us all to play better conditioned layouts. Maybe it will slide lesser quality layouts to improve.
Bottom line is The Oaks is a quality facility worthy of your visit. It is in great shape!,,
Nope
Do not waste your money. Asking premium price for the course and the greens are trashed. For the amount of money you would figure they could afford the pesticides and keep the greens nice. I have seen $30 courses with better greens and they’re asking $90 for this place done waste the money.
