Mystic Dunes Golf Club

First time playing Mystic Dunes and rate it as one of the better layouts we’ve played in Orlando. Not sure what some of the negative reviews were about, but we’re glad to have chosen it and will play it again when we’re back from the frozen North.

Fairways were a little tight as far as the grass was concerned. Greens were in great shape, but crazy slopes on most of the greens.

Mystic Dunes is one of our favorite courses when in Orlando - fun layout and challenging greens.

Greens are about as silly as it gets, espicially when the greenskeeper decides to put 13/18 pins on what would be tournament illegal spots.

Most undulation I've ever seen and not in a good way. Greens are goofy with severe slopes. They are in great condition and fast, but the greenskeeper needs to learn how to cut fair pins if the course is going to be like that. Some very silly holes, with trees in the fairways, blind lines and crazy dog legs. There are some decent ones as well but the silly out weighs the good.

I'm a 4.7 handicap and I would just say this isn't a fair test of golf. It's fine if you are staying close and get a killer rate, but considering the abundance of great layouts in the area, don't think I'll go back.

I have been playing this course many times every year for 7-8 years and very disappointing this year. The fairway are just in terrible conditions. Not acceptable for the price paid. Sad as it is a great course otherwise. I played on thanksgiving 2024 and the usual very nice starter was not there. Despite hole no 1 being completely empty with the foursome late while the four of us were ready to go, when we asked to go, which is normally done everywhere, we would said to wait to our tee time. Probably not a starter with a great experience...

An interesting layout, but the greens are similar to a putt putt course absent the windmills and tunnels. The greens are full of ridges, multi level surface. And the funnel effect. You can anticipate some very unique putting experiences.

The fairways were filled with crabgrass, the ball stops immediately once it hits the fairway. Iron strikes were impeded by the long sticky grass. The superintendent has to get that out of the fairways in order for this to be a reputable course. The greens were also slow and grainy.

The layout is great and I remember years ago it was a golf gem in Central Florida but since then it has fallen into disrepair and mediocrity.

It's been years since I have played here and it was a pleasant surprise to see that the course is looking much better, still a way to go but the fairways and green were excellent. Fun track.

Not to mention it was a value on golf now for $65 this time of year.

Played early in the morning, cold start but soon warmed up and focussed on these challenging greens, great layout and friendly staff. Always a pleasure to come back each year and play Mystic.
