This Course - A MUST TO GOLF!
Great layout, first six holes play more links style with lots of sand, fairways dormant but good grass, greens were great - only noticed two a bit rough. Was a pleasure to golf and will definitely go back for another round.
We loved this course
The pace of play was very good. Tee boxes are great especially the women's. Would have no problem with recommending this course to anyone.
Nice links course.
The course was in good condition. Greens were quick, fairways were very nice. Enjoyed a wonderful day of golf.at a nice course.
nice layout ...greens need attention
Nice layout. Challenging course. Played the blue tees and it earns its 72.4 rating. Water is in short supply in Texas and some of the greens need attention. Pace of play was good, great for a Sunday afternoon. Will play again.
very playable
Had a wonderful day.
The fairways and rough were in very good condition.
The bunkers needed turning over and a couple of greens had some damage but overall the course was in good shape.
Look forward to playing here again soon.
Better cared for than the past and great deal for a membership
Well maintained and friendly layout for all, just play the tees to your score and enjoy the wide open hill country views along the lake.
Nice course
Portions of a couple of greens are gone, but otherwise the course is in great shape. Nice test for all levels of play.
Great course
Great course, staff needs to be a little more friendly
Beautiful hill country course, perfect day
Well maintained course along river with very nice course design.
this is a beautiful course in the hill country on a lake
The course is in very good condition. Has some really testy holes. The day, for Texas, was very good. The only thing that did not go right was the free hot dog and gator aid. They did not have any hot dogs made and the lady did not know anything about the deal. however she was very nice about it and gave us a gator aide and come chips.
Course is an excellent layout.
The Legends is a very tough course but placement of the white tees gives a senior golfer a chance to play well. They were usually about 30-40 yds. behind the red tees. The greens had not been mowed. I could not tell for sure but I don't believe they are ever mowed closely as on most golf courses. Obviously, that's why I can't recommend the course.
Great views of the lake
Great course had a good time. Very friendly staff and helpful for a course I have never played.
Course was in great condition
This is the best course in the area for the money. The people treated us as if we were 5 star members there. I will go back to play often !
Great Hill Country Course
Neat mix of holes with plenty of challenge depending upon which tee box is selected. Good condition from tee to green, especially considering the drought...greens were not particularily fast but rolled true. At times a little slow play but not bad considering this was a holiday weekend.
Cool location on the water in Texas Hill Country
I booked the tee time for two. We added a third after the booking. I checked Golf Now the morning of the round and one slot was still open for the discounted rate for our time. We drove over an hour, and when we arrived confirmed a slot was still open yet they charged our third full fare. I find this to be extremely unfriendly to a first time group to the course. I have spoken to more than a few people about this and they tell me (no pund intended) this is par for this course. Very unfriendly starter and clubhouse. Course was fun, but had a TON of weeds. Will think twice about making this trek again.
Best deal of the year!
Normally course is not worth the drive and cost- BUT with the incredible discount this round is probaly the best round I've had this year. Not a cake-walk, members course- but a fair to tough test depending on the tee selection and wind. The course is always in very good physical shape but the normal daily rate is too steep. The end of summer, during a historic drought- and the course is beautiful. Don't miss this one!
Worth The Drive
I was quite impressed with the layout of this course. It was about an hour and 20 to get there from Spring Branch, and worth every mile. A great deal of thought went into the design of this course as bunkers are extremely well positioned. And it has all you want in terms of length too. I normally play one up from the tips and found myself with more mid iron approach shots than I am accustom to compared to the likes of Canyon Springs, Vaaler Creek, or River Crossing, (my usual haunts). You want a little less, tee it forward like Jack says. They sell a nice yardage book in the pro shop for $5 that tells you all you want to know about the course, well worth it. The ONLY slight I saw with this course was that it needs a hair more maintenance. It was completely playable in every respect, just need to mow the greens a little tighter. This is a fantastic course that needs more traffic. Saturday 1:30 and we ran into a single passing though and that was it! So grab some buddies and make a little drive to Marble Falls and have lunch on the way at Bluebonnet Café at 3rd and 281 and go on to enjoy magnificent course at a VERY reasonable price.
After closing for maintenance.
Very disappointed in conditions of greens after closing a week for maintenance. Patches of grass on greens made putting difficult..
Beautiful course
A great course for the price. Scenic layout. Multiple tee selections. Fairways in great shape. Rough a bit high on a few holes, hard to see ball. Greens held a shot very nicely, but more undulations than I prefer. A well designed course. Will go back.
Staff didn't come through
By staff, I mean the shop pro. We wanted to go off early because we got there early, the course was not in the least busy and it was going to get hot but the pro would not let us unless we paid for another round because we had paid on GolfNow and he made us wait 2 hours for our GolfNow tee time saying it was his policy. The rest of the staff told us later they felt we should have been allowed to go ahead and play. The course was in great condition, excellent greens. Good round except for the hiccup with the pro.
