Lakeland Golf Club
About
Lakeland Golf Club originally opened in 1964 and in 2002 it was expanded to an 18-hole championship course. Barry Serafin reworked the traditional design of the original layout into a challenging course that is still playable for a range of skill levels. The five diverse sets of tees make it even more accommodating. Seasoned players will find the championship tees to be a formidable test but the gold tees are tame enough for beginners. Its versatility makes the golf course an excellent venue for tournaments and outings. The course can be tight in some spots, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. Lakeland Golf Club's fairways are generous and seemingly tame but they are bordered by strategically positioned bunkers. There are also meandering streams and a few lakes that come into play on a few holes.

Lakeland Golf Course
I apparently I got lucky & they had an outing in the morning & I showed up about noon. Course was all mine. Fantastic experience.
A little bit of a drive for me but, the course is in excellent shape and has some challenging holes. Course has decent fallout areas for those of us that don’t always hit them straight. Water comes into play on multiple holes, with some course management and knowing the layout the water is negotiable. Very fun course for all skill levels plenty of tee box distances for all to enjoy!!
Not a good start
Of all the courses I’ve played in this program, I’ve never been greeted as though my business was unwelcome. I was treated as an inconvenience for utilizing the program. I’ve been in business for over 40 years and understand that making a dollar every minute is more important than making 2 dollars in an hour. In past years I’ve had course workers tell me the program didn’t meet their expectations and subsequently dropped their facility from the program but I was never demeaned for using the program of browbeaten. I didn’t let it lessen my experience but found it rather interesting in a representation of the program.
First time playing
This was my first time playing this course. The course was in great condition greens rolled true. I look forward to playing this course again. There’s several holes where water comes into play. Now that I’ve played it I will use better course management. A few challenging holes but a very fun course to play. Course has space for us golfers that don’t always hit a straight shot!! Get out and play this course definitely worth it!
Great Course in the Country
Found this course online when visiting family in Ohio. Wasn't sure how great the course would be for the price paid, but was pleasantly surprised at how great of shape the course was in. Fairways were a bit on the thin side, but incredibly green. Rough was not so thick you couldn't play out of it. The greens had some rough spots but were better than many other courses in the area. Overall had a great time and couldn't beat the value.
Bad conditions
This is normally a great fun course but it was in horrible conditions and the greens hadn’t been mowed in weeks. If they take better care of the course it’s great.
Good course for the price
Good course for high-handicap and spouse. Fairway grass was long, but overall the layout and conditions were good
Okay at best
This course had aerated their greens and it was the most inconsistent pace. They were doing construction on 14 and because of that they told people to play two extra holes creating a back up which previously we had no one in front of us. I would go here once. But it was too far of a drive for me to want to go back again.
Customer Service Alert
We drove 2 Hrs from Cleveland for tee time and arrived an hour and a half early to an empty golf course and nothing but open tee times in front of ours yet the lady refused to allow us to tee off early stating those are the rules? So we all sat around and looked at each other. That was our first impression of the place. Common sense did not prevail.
Liked the layout. Seemed well cared for. Unfortunately greens had recently been aerated so they were slow and didn't roll true. Greens gotta be aerated. Just our luck of the draw. Did look like a lot were baked from a hot dry summer.
