An average course with an inflated fee
While The Oaks is certainly in better condition now than it has been over the previous several years, the recently increase Fees do not reflect the true value of the course. Taking into account the Fees charged by other nearby courses, a $50 plus tax fee is out of line.
Ease into winter golf trip
A relatively benign course. It was good for a first stop on a winter golf trip to shake off the rust. Greens were relatively slow, and a few were bumpy. Course is short and straight forward, but overall enjoyable.
WINDY BUT GOOD!
Fairways were in bad shape no overseed tees same problem, greens were ok. course only has 3 sets of tees is a problem for senior golfers
Long course but fair layout
Fairways in good shape greens pretty good for no overseer pace of play good ..real good day
Not worth the money to short
Pace was slow because three in front when to each other ball and stand on the green after putting and just started talking to each other
Greens good..fairways thin no oversred
Greens good fairways very thin.needed oversreded hard to hit you out shots #10 fairway hardly no grass
Reviews have the wrong course
I have NO idea where some of these reviews are coming from. I am a self proclaimed golf course snob and I did not have that big of a problem with this course. Now, there is the Meadows course which I have never played but did here that they closed it down because it got in such poor condition. I played in a 4 man scramble at the end of May and didn't pay for it so I cant speak on the value of the green fees but I would have been fine paying $30-$34 to play here. The course is short but can make some of the par 4's fun for big hitters that want to go for it. There IS 3-4 greens that have "issues" going on with them but the rest of the greens are truly some of the nicest in the area. There is some small elevation changes that create blind spots so knowing the course is helpful.
Overall I am looking to going back and playing my own ball to see how well i can do. By the way, this course is the sister course to Terra Vista at Skyview which is the nicest public course around right now.
Greens? lol
Don’t play this course, The greens are like sand traps. When they set the pins there is always a ridge around the hole. Lots of public courses that are in better shape. It’s not the staffs fault, it’s the owners..... Sad....
Don't waste your time or money
We were really looking forward to playing this course. We were originally scheduled to play the Meadows but talking to the pro shop they suggested we move to the Oaks, since the greens on the Meadows are in rough shape if they are worse than the Oaks I wouldn't want to play them. Fairways were thin, no over seed this year. We spoke to marshal on the course and he agreed the bad conditions.
Course quality
The golfcourse, either the Oaks or even worse the Meadow. There is hardly any grass on the fairways, the greens special at the Meadows are very bad. You should call it a green except for the color. They cover them with green sand to make it looks good, Norway you can make a good put.. It’s a real shame for such a nice place. The staff at the counter is very friendly. The Tiki bar is okay except for the prices you pay for food.
Charge single rider for cart
Our group was a threesome and the pro(no lets not call it that) shop charged us $8 each for a separate cart. ($24 total. ).Nowhere else charges a single rider for a cart. The greens were sanded and were not consistent, some fast and some slow. Won't play here again due to the cart policy!!
One of the best course in the area.
Challenging course. Trust your GPS! Might look closer or further away but it’s not!!! Lol
Should have been warned
This course is charging the same as the best groomed courses in Central Florida and the greens have gouges, no grass, and in total disrepair. I play courses in Ocala that are in 5 star shape for 10 bucks less all the time. I gave the Meadows a chance and wont return.
Good course but slow pace
Nice course but slow on the pace of play. Every wed is the busiest day of the week! Don't go then. Staff stuck up, but I was there to golf. Nice layout, great greens and fairways
