Pairing
Everything was great except me and my friend were paired with a couple who was just beginning to play this year and actually shared 1 bag of clubs. Our group was the one that dropped pace of play rating. The couple was super nice but it was a negative impact on GOLF.
Besides that, it was all 5 star.
Great course, lots of fun to play
First time at this course. Great mix of challenging holes. Very friendly staff.
Almost every tee box and green in really good shape.
Course overall was in good condition with fairways being great! Numer 1 green on Dunes course needs work to remove the clumps of un-wanted grass growing in same but other greens were in good shape. The tees on hole 5 and I believe hole 7 (played from the whites) need to be watered and more grass is needed because it is difficult to get a tee in the ground (bringing a hammer would help), but these two tees were somewhat of an enigma to the other tees which were not a problem. Course otherwise is challenging and fun to play with some beautiful holes, especially on the Vista 9.
Decent / affordable golf near beaches
Fun course in older community outside the hustle of beaches. Course layout has fun holes and challenging! Price was ok but better than most. Greens were rough, a lot of areas on each hole needed weedeating, and cart path was falling apart. If looking for fun this is above a goat track and worthy, if expecting top notch course with amnesties, avoid.
Lakes Course great for beginner and granddad
Have played the Glen Lakes courses maybe a dozen times, but usually on the Dunes/Vista 9's. Asked this time to play 9 holes on the Lakes course which is flat, and more wide open with easier greens to putt since I was playing a scramble format with my 8 1/2 year old granddaughter. It was her first time on a par 36 course. Also chose the course because it was less crowded and the employee in the pro-shop said it was in really good shape. Worked out great with little pressure from other golfers and, in fact, the course was very nicely conditioned on every hole from tee to green and was all the challenge we needed. Granddaughter thought it was great!
1st Time
Played the older 9 hole course twice since it wasn't as busy as the link courses. Conditions were hot and breezy, but the fairways were in very good condition and most greens as well. Repairs ongoing on or around cart paths in one location so had temporary reroute for carts. Carts paths were really rough in a number of locations that were the result of the hurricane 20 months ago. Enjoyed the round.
